PMC AEC islands released!

PMC AEC v1.2, OFP islands by PMC.

This is Malden, Kolgujev and Everon in one island... uhm, terrain. This is the original OFP islands terrain now with ArmA 8WVR native satellite texture layer configuration.

very nice indeed ,these are good islands to test out multi sats . had a little fun tonight.
another step forward, i for one dont think i will be making a 12800x12800
and creating new layers like the cwr team. i have no interest in the failed method that sara and rahmadi use , at full settings on these islands all my scripts with fired or hit eventhandlers fail ,because of the resourcehog that is
the terrain streaming, i personally would rater wait 20 seconds in the beggining and then have a lag free, 100% working scripts mission.

This map is good for an old OFP player, I enjoyed it.

So there are flying trees, black crossroads, it's already known, what's I have found :
1°more angular features, as an example a hill was kind'a truncated cone in OFP, became here a sharp pyramid

2°uniform green grass texture even on the beach,
3°lack of large pine trees,
4°alien hovering plants (a lot of them S of Malden near the lighthouse or on summit of Kolguiev highest mountain) [img=http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/9237 ... vx2.th.jpg]
5°over heighten harbor [img=http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/1549 ... nd8.th.jpg]
6° houses "too low", carpeted with grass( I have found 2 different models)

I know it's a lot of work to transform those islands in an ArmA map, bug reporting and testing is the only things I can do to help ... sorry!

Hopefully we can get those objects aligned to the ground soon enough. Either by manual work or by getting the ArmA ODOL format so they can be automatically aligned.

Found that we need more distance between island, with the "no fog" of new patches and a view distance up to 5000m you can see a guy on Everon from Malden, only 2300m.
And, well I had the feeling that Malden was the southern island with pine trees and tamarisk, Everon in the NW, Kolguiev in the NE and Nogova far away in the N (remember the ice caped mountain).
I had dreamed of a diamond shape layout with 10 000m between islands.

I will definitely take into consideration all the feedback thats been provided here and in BIS forum topic. Altough basically I dont feel like reworking the whole idea, this afterall is the conversion of AEC islands, but of course we can and should add any nice new ArmA features like the multiple airbases and of course... long viewdistance.

I dont think anyone will port any missions though, havent seen one mission released for original AEC so thats one point.
