hello people! i recently learnt how to make a custom background that fits terrains better, instead of using the boring, classic backgrounds, with this tutorial you will be able to make a nice custom made background for your map!
programs you need:
obviously GE
Blender
GIMP
first step is installing blender (i personally reccomend blender 2.93) and then watch this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mj7Z1P2hUWk
once you have done that i will show you how in a images-made tutorial in imgur (im sorry idk how to post pics here)

Putting links and images here is easy. When you are creating a new message/post, there are the buttons above text edit box which from left to right begin with "b", "I", "U" and then various icons. Click the well kind of landscape looking icon that is for images.

Or if you are hardcore elite geek, you could just write the code itself.

A tip for image linking, seems like forum width likes 1024 * something resolution images so that it doesn't bring up horizontal scroll bars which are annoying then to read the post scrolling it left and right.

Anyways.

Looking very much forward to your background tutorial, some people have mentioned they like terrains to have the outside area done instead of just empty oblivion, me too, but its always been a cosmetic thing which doesn't change corn yield etc so heh.

My goal is to have blender roads and railroads tutorial as well, to expand what I already written in our website tutorials section.

You ended the imgur screenshots and descriptions list by saying "i will post a second part once i finish doing this", did you have more screenshots coming?

sorry people if i havent posted anything on this to pic but this week has been a straight disaster for me, idk when i will post the second part of the tutorial, srry if i write like sh8t but im a bit drunk haha srry snake also, will try to continue this tutorial as soon as im better.

Thank you, just downloaded the images and digesting text.

Looks like some of the images could be left out to save server file space, also the blender video tutorial needs to be transcribed as text, I'll see what I can do.
