Hi everybody,

I've joined this community a few months ago, but I haven't been very active ever since. To compensate that I would like to introduce my new project.

By experimenting a lot with world machine and dem files I've got a wonderful terrain that looks like the Mournes in Northern Ireland. Normally I don't spend very much time editing a map, and so my harddisk contains nearly a hundred unfinished wrp maps.

The plan is: you give feedback on my map. I'll show you the map and some images from the level I've made so far. Note: it's not an island. I had to do this because the mountain range would be too small if it was. I am a real nature freak; I love mountains and such so it won't be a real military map. It will contain villages and such though, but I am not that far yet. Here are some images+map. Let me know what you think of it. It would be great if we'd combine all our ideas in one map.  ;)

Blannagh

**History: Altough it seems that Blannagh is just a small hill in the west of the Sontonagh District, it’s history goes back millions of years before the range actually existed. 200 million years ago, this part of the country was a volcanic region with Blannagh as highest point ( 603m ) When the first glacial time arrived, the ice wiped out the entire volcanic range and propelled the earth. This way the Sontonagh Plateau came into exitence. 5000 years after, the ice began to melt and made little rivers on the plateau. When the second Glacial time arrived, it decapetaded Blannagh fully and eroded the rivers into steep valleys. The plateau changed into a mountain range we know as the Sontonagh District. All that remained of Blannagh's pride, is a 71m (210 feet) volcanic plug and some basalt...

Theigh Braes

**History: Slieve Theigh was formed by the ice. The slopes were extremely steep and Theigh's south slope was a 200m wall, dominating the surrounding landscape. When the climate changed, the Sontoragh range got eroded quickly by enourmous amounts of rain and an alltime strong gale. This caused great pressure on the steep slopes. When the last glacial time arrived, though the ice didn't make it towards the range, the temperatures were always close to frost and the great amount of water inside the slopes got frozen. Now the wall became extremely vunrable. It was saved by a miracle, when it survided the last glacial time and the earth started to get temperate again. The wall managed to surive until june 15 1927, a black day to climbers as the famous climber Chris o' Neil died. He was climbing the wall with some friends, when a small and silent earthquak appeared. The wall suddenly collapsed, causing o'Neil to fall down 160 meters. His friends were waiting for him on top of the wall, when they felled the earth shakng under their feet. The yelled at o'Neil, he had to go down immediatly. Obviously, they were too late because the wall collapsed 5 seconds later. There is a grave under the mountain. This way the Braes had formed, one of the most presently formed rock formations.

Wonderful work with the rockslide, I don't recall anyone having done one before like that. Have you tried using the variable size scaling on the region tool to shrink them though?

Too bad, it didn't work after all. Well, no names then :)

I would like to upload my "island" as an alpha, got any ideas how I have to do it? I don't know how to post a zip file.

I think you have two little faults.
1.) I don't know if it's really necessary, but afaik you should insert the name of your island at the red marked place instead of "names".
2.) The whole names list must be IN the "world-class". In your case it should be in the "class myworld: Intro".
