At the moment it owns very much polyguns but runs okay!

Could you touch up the existing weapons in O2, perhaps you could add some details in them or correct some errors they have now?

hi, you are progressing, but lemme try to give you some tips to improve it
-the foregrip looks strange with only 4 "lines" on it (look at the pics)
-the foresight needs reworking, look how it's made
-the flash hider it's not "cut" at the end but they're a few holes at the end

rgr ! always better! :wink: What I see now:
-The handgrip seems a bit longer and thiner then the original
-the buttplate should be oval shaped
-can you try to make those flashider holes more like the real ones? (check pic)

I think thats the big difference between us and those "10PicsperWeek and Glamour" mods.
We let the users decide what they want to see, their opinions influence our work.
And thats unique, against other mods like IWM, which is showing nothing "Behind the beauty"

Thanks for the 2 versions (what the hell is that downed pilot xm LOL, It's straight from the middelage :D)but maybe you should concentrate on nam era weapons, and first of all, finish the XM 177 wich looks kewl already.
-Can we see the other side of the xm177 and some "flat" (I mean not in perspective) views?
-What are other users on this forum thinking about it?
-why is my glass empty...

Handguard still needs a fix
Aight, i'am going to try to change it,

But i don't just making new weapons, i also fix the default ones,
Thats what I done so far,

Bug Fixes:

Weapons

NVA/Vietcong

Mp40 : sight view adjusted

Mas36 : sight view adjusted

K98 : new texture, sight view adjusted,

Enfield : sight view adjusted,


US side

Hush Puppy : Sight view added,scaled,scaled(bigger), Ammo changed (380>270m/s)

Itaca : scaled(bigger), sight view added, ammunation changed (stronger),break between every shot(1sec),reduced number of bullets from 46>6 (shells didn't work in alhpa), better recoil(More)

Colt M1911 : sight view added, Ammo changed(from 380>300m/s)

LAW : rocket speed raised (360>145m/s)


Options:

One New loading screen(Landscape with MG in background)


Completely new things:

NVA/Vietcong

Mat 49 added


US side

Thompson : Completely New Weapon model and textures, sight view added,

Completeley New Car 15 Variants:

Car-15 (Normal)

Car-15 9mm (Shooting with 9mm bullets and uses stick magazines)

Car-15 Survival (Weapon for downed pilots)

I was playing around with the weapons and I've noted a few things.

I can't seem to find the SF M16 looking thing with the M203. I know that's not the proper name but I'm sure you know what I mean.

The M60 mags and the grenade bags for the Bloopers guys only take up one ammo slot. That might need a change. On the blooper guys the Buckshot shells don't make a proper sound when fired.

Dispersion is too bad for the weapons. I know you guys wanted prolonged firefights but as it stands, my guys run out of ammo when facing only a few guys. Seriously, I had eight SF guys vs. four VC and three of my guys ran out of ammo before the bad guys were downed.
I'm sure you can still have a good amount of dispersion without going back to super accurate weapons. Just a tweak.

Not a firearm but still classified as a weapon. Could you guys take a look at how the radios are shouldered by the units. I see that currently the radios just hand off one shoulder. Is it a proxy thing?

Because the Cockpits of some airplanes badly need some fixes. Also the tanks.
Because i can't do it, i dont know much about vehicle configs,

Yes, theres no M16A1/M203 yet.
But if you want to see all weapons, place the two VTE weaponcrates and try them out


Dispersion: Yes, i will change the dispersion, dont worry, may i send you an updated version within the days
But i will rework the Full Auto recoils, so it wont be possible to hit targets 50>in Full Auto mode


Guys, the next thing is a harder thing....
I made first time in my life some (better) textures with Adobe Photoshop, which i received from my uncle who's working with 3d tools.
I made a screen, (On a Thompson, which is my own model too)

If there are suggestions please tell me (The circles are still untextured)

During the time, you should use some placeholder i think. Snakeman and me are working hard on bug fixing, (at least i think) but if you need something badly for your campaign tell it to me and i will send you the latest weapon update i made immediately.

VTE dont have the M16 with grenade launcher, its included in the OFP VTE v0.4 though. So yeah we should import it to ArmA then or use the one from Skaven (I think he made one).

I believe we roughly use the JAM3 values, but I'll try to remember to check them before next release. Also I need to evaluate that IF the values are too much, how are the firefights as so far what I've played pre alpha 11-23-07 I've not found there to be any problem.

Not technically a proxy thing, its just how the radio 3d model is positioned. I had to tweak it million times in O2 and then go ingame to check, that was the best I could do before I was loosing my mind.

dg, please dont start to send updates to people, we cant have that.

Any and all fixes, tweaks, updates, releases and everything must go through me so we can keep everyting organized!

This means that dg you must tell me what have you done/doing right now, I thought you are just creating new 3d models for weapons which this topic is all about. If you start to do config tweaks for them, fine, but as I just said you must pass those changes through me. I have already changed VTE_config.pbo since the last hotfix, so anything you've/anyone is doing there, will be overwritten on the next release, please... send all edits to me.

Further, we still need to move into the SVN system like ACE/ESP completely especially if we get more developers than only me. But anyways thats different story for different topic.

Really Sorry, I thought hes in the team because he made that m113 reskin and is working for (official?) Missions.

Well, the config changes I done are all written in the Changelist above.


I'll ask the modding gurus if I can bring up a soldier + radio model into buldozer at the same time, I doubt it can be done, but I'll ask.
Why you dont load up a soldier, you costumize the radio model and delete him after?
We've got to move to a SVN System like ...

Much as I'm flattered, I'm not actually in the team. I'm working on some missions using the mod but I don't want to be attatched to any mod teams. I don't have the time.

I made that reskin when I was taking a break from mission editing. You guys can have it. Even though it's not photorealistic, it's way better than what you've got and I want to see your mod succeed.

Right now I don't need any new or updated stuff from you. There are no show stoppers. I can hapily wait until you're ready. I will however keep you updated with bugs and the like as I test my own missions. Remember, at least 50% of mission making is testing what you've done. There wil certainly be things that come to light if I'm wandering around the map for prolongued periods of time. Like the gunships flying into your trees. They're just too high.

thats how i would love this mod to work.. people come and contribute alittle.. but many, rather then alot of "dedicated" people that never release updates..

whatever you guys do.. make sure to share it and i try push snakeman to release more updates. Fixed the faces amog other things already.

Abso-fucking-lutely, my heart feels heavy everytime in MP chat I hear someone fixed this or tweaked that, but I never heard nor receive any of these fixes...

I am willing to put any and all good fixes/tweaks into the official release if someone just sends me them or provides info of what to change myself.

Yeah thats a private thing that I will do one day..

other then that I am working with VTE, helping ACE (very little),.. and ofcourse full time student :)

Koh Pulau will be one day.. I am waiting for ArmA and hopefully a working (easy to use, english) visitor.. since the terrian will be different in ArmA II will wait for that.. and well, ofcourse hope can get something out from vte to that (jungle objects and stuff.. but thats later stuff).
