I have updated the server to v1.12 beta, hopefully it works good. Immediately I noticed that in 1.12b for some reason the grass is not visible anymore. Didn't test it that much further yet.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Well I'm open to suggestions, altough even I dont have set time every month that I can spare, sorry to say so...

However, from this point on I'm quite free about one week. So I could check out the server every now and then, but I'm quite sure its blind luck to bump into someone in there.

I'm heading to the server now, I have absolutely no idea how long time I can keep interest up hanging around there if nobody shows up. But just thought about posting if there is some player browsing through this topic.

I'll edit this post when I'm definitely not in the server anymore. If this post is NOT clearly edited and I'm NOT in the server... just wait and I'll return shortly (perhaps I'm editing/tweaking a mission etc).

Edit: it was fun playing after a long time, met with Ron there, discussed some fixing/tweaking and v1.12b issues. All good. Will post again when I go back to the server.

Ron or Steve, I could not find any updated missions besides the Dec 24th dated AirCav missions. For example the firebase dottie mission is completely missing now.

Can you please put them back online, you can just pack everything you have (working) and we'll sort them out in the server :)

I'm heading back to the server now, I mocked up couple of new missions which I want to try. Again same as yesterday, until you see this post edited that I'm NOT in the server... you'll find me in the server (if I'm not there, just wait a bit, perhaps I'm making another edit etc).

Hey guys I got the grass back. I put out 04-19-08 dated config update which can be downloaded here:
VTE_config_04-19-08.rar - 143kb.

There is some other very small fixes which I honestly cant remember now. Must obvious of course is the grass, now the terrains looks nice and beautiful again instead the pale grassless dull look :)

If you want to join to the server, please download the updated vte_config.pbo and use it. Thank you. See you on the server, we have many new missions to test.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm working on it. Strange... server is up on the shell, I can (obviously) connect to the shell, but server cant be seen on the gamespy or even on direct IP connect.

I'll try to fix it ASAP.

There seems to be some major problem with the gamespy or something. I can see many many servers on the ingame server list, but not PMC Tactical. So I had to log in with the direct IP which is

62.165.128.149

So until the gamespy issue will be fixed, if you join to VTE server, please use the "Remote" button and put in this IP address.

Sorry for the inconvenience, hopefully we can get in some good VTE MP during the weekend. New hotfix is on its way (good stuff!) and I'm trying to check in the server every day during the weekend.

Wonder what brings it down like this, the log didn't give any indication. I believe it was the test mission on 25km prototype terrain which was running and grunT the last to connect/disconnect.

Heya fellas
Yesterday I played with ORC clan, we were like 15 players online, I never played a VTE coop with so many players! They invited me on their TS and even if I dont understand a thing (haha), it was cool 8-). Be happy, cause tonight they'r hosting their second coop "we were soldiers-Part 2" and I guess there will be a lot of players. So keep an eye out on the games in progress this evening .
just type vte or "orc" in the filters to find them.

Last night I had a quick technical test that the server runs, VTE runs and I can connect with my new internet link, everything was okay. Tonight I'm planning on spending few hours on the server, hopefully bringing in some MP missions with me.

Last night I was there with NeF, grunT, AnzacSAS guys and few others. However I was so tired of the day that I was just riding along and couldn't put much effort for the missions, I also bailed out pretty early, sorry about that. Trying again tonight.

Personally I feel that all the missions are boring, others and mine, all of them. At least that was my feeling last night. I'm in desperate need of new mission material and ideas to get me excited again. I feel that all the missions are just rambo shootemups now, I feel like enjoying SP more than MP. Perhaps we can do something about this, to organize the playing bit better... have a squad and squad leader who is in command etc, to somehow make it more interesting than for example just taking a helo, flying to target and trying to shoot 50 guys alone.

Or dunno, maybe I'm just so exhausted by the objects texture merging which I've done now for so long that I dont even remember when I started it. Hopefully the mood gets better real soon :?

I'm developping a new mission, which will feature many things but I don't want to tell too soon !
NeF saw the very beginning and he can tell that it has a bit of AirCav style without being an AirCav mission and going further with more scripts implemented... The map is Dak_Seang. I still have a few days of work to get it available. :)

Strange, I saw all of your names on the player slots, but no one would reply to messages. Arma sometimes ' hangs' on player names for some reason. If I join an empty server, players names will still be there who disconnected; even with no bots. I'll be back tonight too Snake-about 6pm-9:30pm (EST). For now, Ima just walk around the map until someone joins for a 1pm-3pm slugo-thon on the VC.

Snakeman, If you try the grass edits i posted up i think you'll find its not that simple anymore to clear the target area's anymore and alot more stealth is required. It gives vte the facelift it needed m8.

And yes i agree some new missions would be good but the problem really is that if ya tired like i was also lastnight ya just cant put the effort in to get the rewards.

In the aircav missions i wrote they are best played when there is enough ppl to have someone as a dedicated pilot for transport and another for airsupport.

The next edits of the aircav will be a little different in the way of being a little stricter with assets possibly.i dunno yet,still thinking of ways to create a better mp environment.

Is there anyway to force a vote to new map if your the only person there? Helos are not respawning on MP map:P

Last night I had great time on the server (must have been better mood or happy because I finished the object texture merging etc). We completed the new base defence mission called PMC LRRP Defense on Ashau, it was nice and played ok without bugs, we won. Then we played Defense of FSB Dottie, it was great, some guy(s) complained about lag and also I got desync few times and server FPS was 5, so there is something wrong with the mission (as it really isnt that large). Anyways we played through, we won.

I had a great time. I'll definitely try to repeat that tonight, with some mission updates and possibly new one(s) as well :)
