Ran across this site - I seem to recall these guys a long time ago just starting a project - they are still at it - - and have made quite a bit of progress - I doubt we can reproduce some of their work - like the working harrier - - hovering and such. Their terrain looks ok, does give me some ideas there. Anyway - the autumn tiles are not a bad match up with Thunderworks tiles - - at least in parts. . .
the main thing to take away from this is that some things in Falcon like terrain can be signficantly improved and a site like Thunderjet is a good place to get some ideas.

Thunderworks Progress
Hum - -maybe I should join their team?
Nice stuff in there - - terrain looks to be pretty nice, carrier ops - curious how they are going to handle helicopters. The Harrier flight characteristics seem good based on their earlier video - - If they can finish it in 2008 there may be no need to dig into a Falcon version . . .

Re: Thunderworks Progress
imho.. if they want to release it as a TE/scripted mission type sim, yes they are almost ready in gfx part. AI code will take few more months.ranger822 wrote:Hum - -maybe I should join their team?

however if they want it fully dynamic, plus an editor to enhance the re-playability, ya'll got to wait till 2009.
let's try figure out TCL first..

Falklands Campaign Work
let skip TCL for the moment. Falklands OOB is small, number units is small. Conflict is low intensity anyway.
Take a look at the stuff I sent you. If you are happy with your first result and see troops moving around - I can rework ITO2 for placeholders for a more current Falklands DB for RV. You can build the rest of the campaign and whenyou have it running the way you like I will finish out DB, skins, and UI based on latest RV format.
