Linux vs Windows dedicated server performance

Post by Snake Man » 2009-04-15 22:24:03

There has been some discussion about linux and windows based ArmA dedicated server performances.

Suma (BIS lead programmer) wrote this in their forum:
Contrary to popular belief, we have found little (if any) performance difference between Linux and Windows versions of the dedicated server. This does not surprise me - considering the time we spend in the OS calles is already very small with Windows version, even if Linux would be a lot faster, it would make the difference hard to observe.
I guess that settles it then. Its not about the performance, but rather how stable and user friendly or otherwise easy or cool to use the server operating system is.

PMC naturally trusts Linux :)
