BIS announces that they are producing "OFP v1.5" before Game2.

Official name for "OFP v1.5" is Armed Assault (ArmA), announced on second day of E3. Dna made the announcement in this BIS forums topic.

German version was bit bugged so BIS released german v1.01 patch. Few hours later Czech v1.01 patch comes out. This is the v1.01.5094 now.


December 8th, 2006.
Beta of Win32 dedicated server v1.01.5099 was released.

Suma announces at this BIS topic that BIS is preparing a reworked helicopter flightmodel for the next patch.
We are preparing a significantly reworked helicopter control model for the next patch.
At the same token Placebo announces its coming "soon"

Maruk announces that v1.02 patch release is imminent on this BIS topic. Few moments later users post the download link for Czech patch, it is out.

ArmA Demo has been released. But right after the release rush, Maruk posted on this BIS topic that there is confusion with the version. Quote
Please note that if by any chance you download a demo build 5108 it's not the final version which is supposed to be 5109.

BIS released ArmA Demo 1.03 build 5110, it allows the exe to be run with the -server command line so that dedicated servers can be set up for the demo, this should increase performance and stability.

ArmA is out in UK and France at least. People reporting the 505's EU version to be 1.04.5121.


February 18th, 2007.
Maruk announced in BIS forum topic that Win32 Dedicated Server Beta 1.04.5121 has been released.
IMPORTANT: This is version 1.04 and please note that it needs full data update from client version 1.04 and it is not compatible with clients versions 1.00 - 1.02.

Maruk announced on BIS forums that the v1.05 patch has been delayed.
Unfortunately, we experience a slight delay of version 1.05.

We apologize for the delay. Our current plan is to release on Friday March 2nd. More news coming soon.

ArmA Demo US is available now.
It's version 1.06.5149 and it contains 3 single player, 3 multiplayer missions and limited mission wizard to try the editing area of ArmA.

ArmA: Combat Operations (US title) has been released in United States. Check out more details from Atari.com which is the ArmA distributor in US.

Maruk posted on BIS forums about ArmA Patch 1.07 status update.
We're finalizing patch 1.07 that will unify all versions of ArmA available, including the US release in all areas necessary to online multiplayer compatibility.

Maruk announced on BIS forum topic here that patch v1.08 has been released.
New update 1.08 for international version of ArmA is available (564 MB).

Rumours tells that ArmA expansion disk is planned, called ArmA: Queens Gambit, which in essential is a mission pack. It includes two campaigns couple of missions and new island called Porto. No idea if BIS is developing this.


June 29th, 2007.
In checz web site hrej.cz it was said that IDEA games will release the modifying tools in beginning of next week. Tools to be released gradually are TexView2, Fileblank, Oxygen 2 and Visitor 3. Also price for Queens Gambit was set for $19 / 14eur.


July 2nd, 2007.

New generation of our editing tools (for ArmA) is being finalized for public release.
Other tools are in the testing/approval process: not exact release dates are set but we expect to be releasing tools on regular basis in the coming weeks. I will keep you updated if anything changed.

Armed Assault: Queen's Gambit (addon "datadisc") has been released, it can be found on (some) shops and also digital download option is available.


October 9th, 2007.
Maruk in BIS forums BI Editing Tool Suite Release Candidate 3 topic posted that all the tools have now new fixed versions available.
Note that it will overwrite previous versions of the tools.
It contains numerous fixes from the previous releases so it is highly recommended to use this full suite.

November 7th, 2007.
Suma posted about v1.09 patch on this BIS forum topic:
What is taking is so long is especially VoN fixes and anticheat measures. Both need quite large scale testing with external (voluntary) testers involved, which makes turnaround time for any changes in both areas quite long.

Still, the patch is progressing quite well and hopefully there will be at least a public beta within a few weeks.

BIS permanently bans all users discussing, distributing or using MLOD models made by Synide's tool or other such converter tools. This basically shuts down most MODs if taken literally. Placebo posted this on BIS forum topic:
Reverse engineering of ArmA is both illegal and contrary to the EULA, there will be no such discussion on these forums, there will be no links to tools for doing such things nor links to the fruits of those tools' labour, any breaking of these rules will be perm banned immediately.

Any sites which host tools for reverse engineering our software, or host the fruits of such reverse engineering will become "persona non grata" from these forums. If the webmaster of such sites refuse to remove such files from their servers then they will be perm banned from these forums and anyone directly involved with the site will be perm banned from these forums.
Unbelievable...

Maruk added page of ArmA v1.11 beta into the BIS Wiki. Here is the highlights of the new upcoming patch:
- Fixed compatibility issues with Vista x64 platform
- Voice over net and multiplayer related fixes and improvements
- Fixed Out Of Memory problems caused by exhausting 32b virtual address space
- Significant optimizations with large view distances
- AI bridge pathfinding much improved
- Fixed some bugs in the AI target recognition both visually and aurally
- Improved airplane turn dynamics simulation (including improved rudder simulation)
- Fixed clipping issues with 16:9 or TrippleHead displays
