BIS has announced ArmA 2 British Armed Forces downloadable content.

Two months after the Allied military victory in Takistan, the new government is restoring the war-torn country. NATO forces assisting in this effort face the threat of insurgency, waged by the remnants of the defeated Takistani army in the mountaineous regions of Takistan. Company team of British paratroopers patrolling the treacherous mountains in Zargabad's vicinity is ordered to battle the amassing guerilla warriors.

The Arma 2: British Armed Forces is the addon for Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead and/or Arma 2: Combined Operations. It can not be played seperately and does require the original game in order to be played.

Main Features

New Playable Content

New singleplayer campaign, in which the player is going to command a mobile observation team of British troops into the battle with the Takistani insurgents.

New Faction

Selection of modern British troops in desert and multi-terrain camouflage.

New Weapons

New personal weapons from modern British Armed Forces armory, featuring L85A2, L86A2 rifles, L110A1 machine gun, LRR and AWSO sniper rifles and NLAW AT launcher.

New Vehicles

New British ground and air vehicles, featuring the AW159 Wildcat and HC-3 Merlin helicopters; and Jackal 2 MWMIK and FV510 Warrior vehicles.

New Intelligence Report From Takistan!

Unconfirmed reports from the disputed Sharig Plateau region of Kazhegistan have implicated Takistani insurgents in raids upon British patrols. Her Majesty's Armed Forces repulsed several attacks and drove the groups south, where they have regrouped in the Shapur e-Dalanper area.

Shapur is a small, strategically important area with pockets of densely developed settlements and industrial complexes within its regional boundaries, located just on the Karzeghi side of Takistan’s volatile border with Karzeghistan.

International observers have warned that the Shapur area is set to endure intense fire-fights inthe coming weeks, with British forces moving in to rout the insurgent presence as reinforcements deploy on August 26th.

ArmA 2 British Armed Forces launch trailer released!

Next in the line-up of military simulators, this huge add-on for the recently released Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead deploys on August 26th and delivers a new campaign, numerous single missions and a brand new faction, expanding upon the already epic collection offered up by Arma 2's MilSim sandbox.

Players take on the role of British paratroopers and engage the enemy on an asymmetric battlefield. Less than two months after Operation Arrowhead successfully routed the Takistani military regime, NATO coalition forces face a large-scale outbreak of guerilla insurgency. A mechanized force of British troops is about to deploy and embark upon a large-scale counter-insurgency campaign, which will define the future of the coalition presence in Takistan: Operation "Crimson Lance".

BAF provides an opportunity to explore the beautiful country of Takistan in even more depth, and offers the chance to hop across the border to Karzeghistan in the Shapur e-Dalanper region - a brand new area included as bonus content.
