Multiplayer dedicated linux server v1.12 beta

We run the PMC Tactical multiplayer server on linux box, now I had to upgrade the new v1.12 beta dedicated server binary there and found out that at first glance I was bit confused so I had to be careful not to destroy the server install

Well it was not that hard really.

First download the new patch from ArmA 1.12 Linux Dedicated Server Public Beta BIS topic. Then copy the v1.12b windows ArmA game beta/ directory into the linux server dir. Then unpack the tar packet, then run ./install and youre set.

Now when you start the server, you need to use the quotes on the command line as you cannot put two mod directories like -mod=MyMod1;MyMod2 as linux wont read it. So put it like this

./server -config=server.cfg "-mod=beta;vte2"

In that example of course I'm running the beta directory and vte2 directory as mod dirs.

Now your dedicated linux server should be setup and ready to host with v1.12 beta. Good luck.

I guess this topic is as good as any. I'm having problems installing v1.14 dedicated server because I dont know which PBO files I need to re-upload to the linux box (I dont want to upload all to be sure, takes too long time to upload).

Does anyone have list of v1.14 files I need to upload to upgrade 1.12b server?

the above is the contents of the crc file embeded inside the v1.14 windows upgrade installer... should give you some idea of the files 'touched' by the v1.14 upgrade...

i have no idea if the linux installer updates similar files... i suspect the files upgraded on win are probably not the same as on linux...
as I don't have anything to do with linux I've never bothered with the linux arma update files...

Thanks for the list, now I can finally get to update our server. The list doesn't even look that bad, only couple of big pbo's there.

hmmm... yes, now you mention it... it is a bit lite isn't it...
the above listing is for file updates going from v1.08 to v1.14... there are other crc listings that describe which files get touched if you are upgrading from other versions to v1.14...

try the above ones first if you have no luck then i can post the others listings for you...
