Version for AF planned?

Post by Sherlock » 2007-05-20 21:43:10

Just wondering if you guys have any plans (even down the road a bit) for putting out a AF version of the Israeli theater? People have been asking at Frugals about the one that was planned by the AFMOD team but now we are no more and the Israeli theater won't be coming out from us because no one is working on it.

AF Version of ITO

No plans for an AF version - sorry. It is just too much work to try to maintain two databases and other stuff that is different.

Too bad it was my favorite theatre. With RV I have to exit the sim and restart after every mission or I get the black screen problem. RV is nice but AF is way more stable.

FF5.0 has been out and now there is FF5.3. Expect a few more nice tweaks - - ITO2 is now currently back in active development for FF5.x. More to follow.

I gather Sherlock you are a AF only person. So am I. I have finished a complete new kneemap for ITAFMk2_v151 which formed the basis of the current OF version. It is 100% accurate. Nikos Eystratiou from Greece has finished a complete 100% correct Tacan chart and corrected stations.dat for the entire theater also. His work is in Aeyes Pits (Korea and Balkans) and the Panama Theater 1.01 for AF. We are currently giving it a final review before looking for places to release them. If you are interested, I'll put up a temporary link when we are ready.

More or less permanent link to replacement kneemap, stations.dat, and tacan pdf for ITAFMk2_v151

Links also available to theaters that work with F4AF without issues including ITAFMk2_v151

Hi,

i love the israel theatre very much. Unfortunately my OF4.7 does not run properly, it crashes after some minutes flying. It's the nvidia issue, i'm using a GTS250.
Therefore i'd like to play the Israel theatre with my Falcon4AF. Allied force runs fine with my graphics card.
Is there any chance that somebody could upload the file ITAFMk2_v151.zip to filefront or rapidshare?
I searched in the web, but i didn't find the file for downloading any more.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Best regards,
Nimrod

A number of people have been contacting me. I didn't realize the interest. The theater is absolutely not available anywhere on the internet anymore. I used to post the links on my website until they went dead. I'll post the link here until my bandwidth starts getting exceeded and then I'll kill the link. Don't forget to get the replacement map I created and the tacan chart and stations.dat file by Nikos on my website. They are a vast improvement in navigational enjoyment and are 100% accurate.

By the way, if I ever do kill the link, you may still contact me if you are interested in getting the theater and I'll get you a copy or a link to a copy.

Download keeps truncating at 33MB. If you will upload it to filedropper then others can download it. http://www.filedropper.com/

Filedropper has a 5GB limit on file uploads.

Thanks Sherlock.

Filedropper links expire rather quickly. Anyone interested should visit my page at http://www.f16e.com and make a request for a link. Instructions are available on the homepage.

Anyone who has Aeyes pits and wishes to use them with this Israel theater can get instructions at http://www.f16e.com

The conventional wisdom applies, rename your current files before replacement.

Thanks once again. I'll be downloading this from the filedropper link later today soon as I am back home.

About the Replacement Map, Tacan Chart and Stations.dat file - I am a bit of a noob with the details - could you advise which folder in F4AF ITO download should I place these three files in?

Thanks for your help.

visioninthedark, I've revised my post above with links to the files and where to deposit them after installing the theater. Hope you enjoy them.

Quick question.

After I installed the ITO for AF - I noticed that on all MFD's - colour dissappeared.

For example, previous to installing ITO for AF - in TWS mode, you would see the aircraft on the MFD's in green but when you bugged or highlighted them by moving the cursor onto them, they became yellow. Also, the SAM rings would show in red.

After installing ITO for AF - everything on all MFD's is Green for all the Theaters I have installed.

Could someone help and let me know what I need to do to bring back the original colours on MFD's in AF?

Thanks.

change a row in "bfops.cfg" file situated in the root directory to this:
set g_bEnableColorMfd 1

Hi "visioninthedark" .
Look in your root Falcon A.F. folder. You will see a "bfops.cfg" file. Open it with notepad and look for a line called :
set g_bEnableColorMfd 0 .
Change the 0 to 1 and hit save . Now you have color MFD's back !
Have nice flights ....
