Balkan Graphic Problem

The Balkan theatre seems great, but I keep getting a graphic error that erases the terrain over the Balkans (leaving factories and other objects). While flying I will hear a “blump” and loss of ingame sound. If I alt-tab I get the sound back, but then soon find myself flying over no terrain. When I then drop to desktop, I have a small windows panel open with : “error: 648 H:\F4SP2 MainBranch\Falcon\Graphics\Texture\TerrTex.cpp Apr22 2002”
I’m running: F4Sp3, Korea2005, Aeyes 1600 pit (v1.4)
My computer: Dual AMD2000 cpus, 512mb RAM, eVGA Ti4600 video card, sound blaster x-gamer
The problem happens regardless of whether or not I have the hi-res or normal Balkan terrain installed.
Any ideas, or people I could contact?
