Once last three/four ships converted, first part of PIN is done. cover 90+% of fire-power ships.

the rest part of PIN, like partol/aux/amphibious fleet. got difficulity to find line drawings. could use some guess wile modeling.

Before adding PIN, hope DB guys can add all my previous models first..IIRC, around 20-30 of varous items.

modeling need line drawings/ or better side/top views.

i've checked both links long time ago.

anyway first round is complete, most fire power ships are done.

Hi ccc
I just saw this thread and enrolled IOT contribute to this project.
I am within the Navy (it's my real job). I can provide some useful info and most line drawings about ships (unclassified). Just contact me privately.

diomedea out.

first, thanx for your offering.

second, PIN first round is complete. whether we got the second round on amphibous/auxillary/patrol fleet, all up to Quake. If he want to do lod conversion, no problem, we can proceed to next stage.

Quake, he's our agent inside Italian military, fooling around there and stealing topsecret blueprints for us..hehe, no, he's our LOD conversion expert specailized in italian related stuff. Actually he's Italian :D

check SP3 install, you can find Airete, VCC1&2, VCC80, Puma in TacRef. Naval ships and a/c are scheduled for next DB patch.

Thanx our italian navy info source, four ships are now ready in 3ds.
if Quake can convert all in days, PIN will cover 95%+ combatants. (leaving coast patrols, minesweepers, LSM..etc)

however, to make ships perform like real thing, we'll need some info to build up datafiles:
1. shipborne Radar/EW/IR sensor(and their signature) parameters.
2. shipborne Weapon spec/comparative performance data.

guess such info is no common sense eh? :D

Hi ccc
I am your man in this business.
Apart from knowing first hand most of those info, I am in the know of which ones are still classified and what figures could be realistically given instead.
To begin, send me (at my email) a list of sensors and parameters (and units of measure, no trouble thinking yards, but feet and gallons hurt... :D )

For the soul of these lods..i'll send you some files, see if we can work out this part.

Hi ccc
going to make these LODs live, as you know.

No major combatants missing from actual OOB, however would be nice to have models for:
- Stromboli class AOR (very active even nowadays, one returned from Op Enduring Freedom few days ago);
- Doria class CGH (dismissed some years ago, you need that for campaigns in the 80's);
- Alpino class FFH (now in secondary roles, but were combatants in the 80's).

Could be interesting for reality also to have a generic small fishing-vessel model, the Med is filled (actually cluttered) with them, even in wartime (yes, they even fished jettisoned bombs during NATO bombings on Serbia).

Gimme headings.

Contact Quake first..if he can handle more, no problem on my side :D

Actually I think I can send you some info about the ships, what you need about the sensors weapons? Please ask me and I'll give you the answer, not exact numbers but I can give you reference like: check the Spruance or Kirov or Udaloy class, or whatever. I could help tou with tecnical data.

Since such info is quite sensitive, pliz contact Chris/Balkan theater and Shawn/DB expert directly. both will handle this part.

after crashing half a dozen of harriers and carriers, i did, the pic shows.

finally i realize the trick - align the deck, lower the altitude, control airspeed less than 70kt, *lower the tailhook*, done. hope BMS could do someting with VSTOL FM.

If they do fix the VSTOL FM, we would need some FRAP's too. Finally those strips could be used for something the Harrier really needs. Take off, fly to frontline, dump some hardware, fly to FARP, rearm, refuel, and frontline here we come again. Attack helicopters could also enjoy those.
