Balkan Crash

Post by skyraider » 2002-10-08 16:28:00

Hi,

Ok. I just finished my new installation of:
Win2000 + WINSP3 + Directx 8.1 + Falcon 4.0 + Update 1.08 + F4SP3 + Balkan Theater.

In every A/G Mission when I fly close to ground, my system crashes, and I'm back in W2000. I never had this with my old installation. I have installed all the F4 Addons, BEFORE I ever startet F4. Could there be a problem? I would send you a crashlog, but how can I create one?

Thats describes my installation perfectly also, but don't suffer crashes. I expect therefore its a local hardware/driver issue which could be resolved with more info about your specs.

At the risk of sending you away, try a post at Frugals, where there is usually a helluva lot of knowledgable people who can help (not that any of the regular gang here are not knowlegable, but you know what I mean... wider audience, etc, etc, etc)

Think I'll quit now... :)

PS - Every time F4 crashes, it ammends a file in the Falcon4 root directory called crashlog.txt, its not something you have to do yourself.

OK, thank you for the crashlog help! Interesting is, that I had exact the same installation before, and just made it again. Before I never had crashes, but now? I try to reinstall all the F4 relevant things, but now I try to open F4 after each addon. Let's see. (But now I hav to clean my appartement first... ;) )

So, now I have a crashlog. I was flying after a A/G attack, close to ground, below clouds (Layer 10000ft, flying 6000ft, ground 4500ft). The screen went black and then I was in W2000. Here the crashlog:

FalconSP.exe caused a EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module FalconSP.exe at 001B:005116D2
Exception handler called in SimLoop Thread.

For all them witch are interrested:

I reinstalled all the F4 Software like described in http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/show ... e6cbc6624e d8eabb27f&threadid=25598

...and all my problems are gone!
I think my crashes came from the official Falcon 4 update 1.08us.

That is strange but if you say that the game works fine without that then I guess that that was the problem. Enjoy :) :) :)
