Hey I am over in Afghanistan right now. I have stumbled on sources of info looking for topo maps of Afghanistan that might help you guys, if I can find it again which shouldn't be hard. Anyways I think I can help you guys set up a more realistic enviroment, or at least direct you to the right style. That said it will be all PG13 no intel etc, you can't find yourself, but at stuff that is a little less obvious.
First the C-27 contract for Afghanistan is out and that's a twin engine troop transport, first one comes to Afghanistan next year. Other things like that, such as the GPS map(thanks to a free map online) of all the villages etc, tie that with a bit of Google Earth and you guys should, not only have a more accurate map, but also things to see etc. lastly I will get you some terrain photos if at all possible, of how the place looks, at least around here. Beyond that I can't discuss air threats other then what you read on news, and things they publish. Honestly this is pretty much a F-15 A-10 world, but hey a bit more accuracy maybe fun right?
