Slow exit from ‘Mission Builder’ or the ‘Mission Schedule’

Post by Redfox » 2007-12-23 12:24:14

I’m not really sure if this is a bug or just a result of the large theater, but when I select ‘Back’ from ‘Mission Builder’ or the ‘Mission Schedule’ in TE it takes approximately 6 minutes before the next screen appears.

Except from that, the theater runs nice and smooth in the 3D world, so please continue the god work. 8-)

Merry Christmas

It appears Bitbutg AB is not leveled. Just thought you should know. It is way in AF and RV. If someone can tell me how to fix it I will give it a shot.

Thanks, I have now added the bug into the bugs list. As how to fix it, you should check out airbase leveling in PMC Editing Wiki.

problem is, if i edit/tweak the save.cam files i ALWAYS get a CTD in Tacedit, and if not in Tacedit i get the CTD if i select the campaign. :?
SO no edit is possible, THAT is the big problem that i have! Molnibalage also figured that out...

hey Snake Man, the european theater would be my favourite one if i could tweak it... please have a look into it! thanks.

P.S.:
please add also those Austrian Airfields and Armybases in the next release, but i'm still looking for other countries and exact infos!

tried to edit the eruope1 save0.cam.
lots of units have no0 <this> CTDs
removed all AC and Airdefense. added some ACs and AD units, saved it successfully, entered RV, selected the campaign, clicked commit, no edits to priorities, start campaign, CTD.

conclusion. save0.cam is the only .cam that can be edited and saved in tacedit, all others will just crash in tacedit, BUT is also NOT playable....

"lots of units have no0 <this> CTDs"
I don't understand this part.

conclusion. save0.cam is the only .cam that can be edited and saved in tacedit, all others will just crash in tacedit, BUT is also NOT playable....
Also don't understand this. You said that you got CTD after all of your edits. AFTER this you noticed that this is the only editable campaign.

??

And what theater was selected? More than one have save0.cam.

I'm very confused...

Guys, this topic is for Europe v0.6 bug reporting. I'm not sure if it falls to that category if you ask tips how to edit the campaign files.

Ok, where should we go to? should i open a new topic? ("ideas for v0.7")

@Molni:
I don't understand this part.
i meant the units have the number 0, i mean for example its the 0th squadron. if you have it set 0, it will bring you CTDs if think! understand?

i'm talking about europe1/ save0.cam.
i was able to save my edits in tacedit, but if i start the campaign i'll get a CTD in RV! all other save.cams crashed in tacedit. i hope you understand it now, better.

cheers

I setted up a new system, did install RV 1.0.0.4 with Hitiles and additional Pits, then I installed Europe for RV ver.0.6, but he installation didn´t prompt me to choose between RV/OF and AF........the installation shows in the status window "Lead Pursuit", so i guess the installation has choosen AF automatically, or does the "Lead Pursuit" splash also appears after having choosen RV/OF install ?

Didn´t have any AlliedForce install on my new built up system, so what is going on ?

Please help me, I can´t wait flying over Europe !

Thanks in advance,

satch

The Scenario screen for both campaigns needs a little work... The scenarios labels are out of order (2,3,1), as well as the pics (1,3,2).

Korea movies play when scenarios 2 and 3 are selected.

System: Intel i7-930 with 6GB triple channel DRAM, running Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Version: Europe 0.6.1 INSTALLED FOR OPEN FALCON 4.7

Installation finished successfully. Selected Europe as active theater per prompt. Started campaign. Entered campaign 2D map fine. Selected mission. Crashed to Desktop (CTD) whenever I tried to enter the 3D world.

Note: Installation did not give me a choice of whether I wanted to install for OF or AF. I have both installed on my system. It just automatically started installation for OF.

was it resolved the main problem in the crash during the campaign mode?
I'm not referring to the CTD irrelevant to the game during the exit but the crash that occurs after a few days or even hours in campaign
thanks bye

Its Europe v0.6.1 and not 6.1 :)

BTW how come you install it on OF, I thought you were AF guy?
the crash that occurs after a few days or even hours in campaign
I am not aware of any campaign CTD, while back I played the v0.6 campaign in RV for days, no problems detected.

I had forgotten I had installed OF a while back to see what it looked like. The Europe installer automatically selected the OF install and installed itself for OF (and not AF).

This problem does NOT exist in Allied Force. Threat circles work well for both enemy and friendly sides.

Report on installation of Theater:
System: Intel i7-930 with 6GB triple channel DRAM, running Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Version: Europe 0.6.1 INSTALLED FOR Falcon 4: Allied Force, patch 0.13

Installation finished successfully. Started 1985 campaign. Entered campaign 2D map fine. Selected mission. Flew part of a F-15C HAVCAP over central Germany. Nice work on the terrain!

Then I switched over to the present day Europe. Few observations there:
1. There is a squadron of F-15Js at Aviano AB (26th Squadron). This is the Japanese version of the F-15. Are you simulating Japanese involvement in the war or is this a mistake?
2. There is also a squadron of F-15-229s at Aviano Airbase (27th Squadron). They aren't showing up in game.
3. There are OV-10Bs at Wunstorf AB (33rd Squadron). I don't believe there are any NATO nations using OV-10s in Europe. Additionally, the last OV-10D was retired from US forces in 1994. Is your scenario set during this time period or afterwards (present day = 2010?).
4. There is a squadron of EF-111As at Lyon Satolas AB (21st Squadron). All EF-111As were retired in 1998. In the present day the electronic aircraft for the US is the F/A-18G Growler flown by the Navy. It is replacing the EA-6B and supports the USAF also.
5.

Note: Installation did not give me a choice of whether I wanted to install for AF. It just automatically started installation for AF.

Dear Snake Man,
Hello to you and all of the Members, this is my first post here.
I'm having substantially the same problem Sherlock has pointed out above - with only the difference that I just can't start any campaign, CTDs came always first
The story is different with TEs, I can do anything I want with (making, flying, etc.).
I had no issues while installing the theatre on Free Falcon (5.5 with the new cockpits), all things went out fine or so it seemed.
My system is based on an Intel Quad Core Q9400 with 2 GB of RAM, a Sapphire ATI 5770 video card with 1 Gb of RAM and Catalyst driver v.10.7 (but the same issue happened with elder versions); its OS is Windows XP Pro SP3, 32-bit.
More weird even, this happens with any of the theaters released after have been checked their compatibility with FreeFalcon 5, as you stated about.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance and my congratulations for your hard work anyway!

It just might be that the latest update is using some squadron/vehicle that is different in OF database. I'm no OF expert and didn't have the time to test it.

I'd need to find some interested OF guy who can shed some light on the database there.

Dear Snake Man,

thanks for your quick reply, as first. I'm sorry, but I was not too much clear in explaining myself (my apologies for that): the issue is the same as Sherlock's, but it is occuring on FreeFalcon 5.5.
Almost not worth to mention, but perhaps useful to have in mind, it's that all things - campaigns included - are going fine on Allied Force with any of the new released theatres...

Never mind, I just saw there's a whole thread dedicated to my problem.
