Is any way or f4browse value that the AIM 9L/M missile under specific sircumrtances .e.g bandit aircraft dropes 2 flares in specific time algorithm and make hard turn ... the lanched missile can follow that flares and splash on them..i mean there is algorith that the missile follow the locked a/c and splash .. the same could be done when flares droped again under specific sircumstances distance and turn can follow them and splash?

any info ? or it is exe ?

If you are asking can you make IR missile sensor have higher % of following a flare ,yes that can be done to a point but you can not control specifics of when its done as that's controlled by exe .

Look under IR sensor "flare chance" , higher = more .

You can define only flare chance modifier in DB. These are the ICD entries.
Some missile share on same ICD. simdata.zip --> misdata directory. You can find dat files. In that files is defined which ICD is used for missile. First number is 0 for sensor, the second is the ICD.
The WCD file of a missile contains a ptr number. ptr number = row (-1?) number in mistype.lst
In mistpye.lst you can see the name of dat files.

Yes, it is quite an idiotic system...

The effectiveness of flare depends on distance from target when the falre is dropped. Maybe the relative position and speed also count, but I'm not sure.

Here is an exapmle. It seems to me that effectivnes off flare (and chaff) is different if you use them in level flight or if you do hard turn or long barrel roll (ext.) during the dropping. I can't proof 100 perecently but during my test was significant difference between the two different applied method. I wil make a video about it.
