Can the ships fire missiles or only guns?

i cant get the russian battleships to fire missiles at me.
Should i tweak the TE with tacedit and if so what should i do?

code issue.
ships can fire missiles in SP2, then being disable in SP3.

Now tha yo are talking about ships and stuff, is there any possible way to sink a carrier?? I tried every single missile on my carrier group but i did not manage to do it. Can they sink or i should stop trying??

4 harpoons or a nuke on the deck works.

i know that the US ships will fire missiles in SP3 but only if your bubble is set to one

i havent seen the russian ships fire missiles yet.

are .exe edits totally off limits or can one still make like a SP3 bug fix?

try SP2, iirc its ship SAM is pretty sharp.

GUYS revisit the thread on this at Frugals. SP3 ships fire long range and short missle just fine with F4Browse edits necessary for some ships.
CCC- dont you have a line to Joel and I forget who else who coded the last naval mods? Id sure like to know what they say is and isnt broken code wise, as that could save a ton of time.

i replaced the rim7s on the ticondatoga and us carriers with aim120bs to make them more leathal. it worked.

i then tried adding aa12 amraamski's to the krivak and kozetsov but they dont seem to fire on me.

i did notice that if you add the russian and us fleets close enough the US ships will open fire on the russians with their 5in guns and cannons :)

but i dont recall the russians firing on the us ships

another small thing that i noticed and i think this might have something to do with it. If you cycle through the russian ships using button '8' you will hear a lock on sound on one of the ships but not if you do the same with the US ships.

Really? pleaes put AA12 on USN ship, see if they can be used for defense.

if yes, we may change Standard SAM missile to active homing missile feature, good enough for simulating Agies engagment capability.

Too cool, I never considered trying actual A-A missles.... Aegis weapons would be nice

That's a negative. AGM-84 have warhead that is GP/HE. The Kennedy carrier has a 1% damage if hit by HE missile (found it in f4browse) so even 4 AGM-84Es could not do the job.

What i did was to add AIM-120B on the Kozetsov and they fired at me but only one missile and that missed. I saw a rising red AIM-120B anf then smoke from the ship.

did you check the aim120 store of USSR ship?

I put 12 missiles but i think thare must have been some sort of problem.

i tried adding a aim56b it didnt fire.
aa12,sa15,sa13 and aa11 none of them worked.

what effect will it have if i changed the ships bubble distance and radar distance?

i increased the bubble distance of the kennedy but it didnt seem to do anything

can one place a sa15 ontop of a carrier?

The reason why you destroyed it is because the explosive type is water for the Harpoon right?? Well the ship does get destroyed by water explosives. But in order for the missile to be visible on the F-16 i imported the data of the AGM-142 into the data for the AGM-84 and the explosive type which is GP/HE i think. But that kind of explosive does not affect the carrier, that's why it is impossible to sink it even with the 4 Harps.(my kind anyway)
