Phew, have'nt worked on the Fulcrums for quite a while, maybe I should finish them one dayquote: Cool, anything on the Mig-29s in SP4, and the WCMD i sent back to you yesterday?
Got to talk to Basil about a new texture-set, mine was'nt that great IMO.
Do you want me to update the website with your improved WCMD model?
ccc, nice modeling. Can I send you the SA-12 launcher in it's current form? I simply can't find the time and the nerve to finish this thing. How about you?

Spike, yes on the WCMD, no new screens on my end though, so you'll have to get some with OGL again i guess.

thanx Spike - so i learned my splitting error.
i'll borrow your SA12a nodetree structure for SA12b. i prefer missile tube in fixed up position, and get radar DOFed.
btw, nice foxhound. look forward to floggers.

The lods are newly converted by Quake, i did some polishing job and got their radar disc DOFed, add some rough skins.
The complete battery is composed of-
9M82 SA-12b GIANT missile - done.
9M83 SA-12a GLADIATOR missile - done.
9A82 SA-12b GIANT TELAR - done.
9A93 SA-12a GLADIATOR TELAR - done.
9A84 GIANT Launcher/Loader Vehicle (LLV) - done.
9A85 GLADIATOR Launcher/Loader Vehicle (LLV) - done.
9S15 BILL BOARD Surveillance Radar system - done.
9S19 HIGH SCREEN Sector Radar system - done.
9S32 GRILL PAN Guidance Radar system -?? no pic.

Re: New 3d toys? XXI
Just to let you know, this project is still alive. This must be the oldest model around, ranging back to ccc's nose-mod, back in 2001. I guess, it's time to finish the job.

Re: New 3d toys? XXI
Pumpy, will you DOF that canopy?
The sliding type. may use a regular DOF, pivot at tens' feet above canopy, then 2-3 degree of canopy open anlge may provide a relatively smooth "sliding". just my 2c.

Re: New 3d toys? XXI
If you want a perfect sliding canopy, it can be done with 4 DOFS.
At location B, there are 2 DOFs, both rotate the opposite of A & C.
The distance between A & C is how far the thing will slide, assuming the DOFs rotate 90 degrees.
When you rotate the DOFs here is what happens:
At locations A & C, there is 1 DOF, both rotate the same direction.code:Code: Select all
<--A--B--C
At location B, there are 2 DOFs, both rotate the opposite of A & C.

When you rotate the DOFs here is what happens:
code:Code: Select all
<--A--B--C B / \ <--A C B | <--A (A & C are now in the same spot.

Hi Mike,
Yes, I ended up using 3 dof's to get the sliding effect. Similar to what I used to get the extending canopy pole on the F-16B models.
The Mig-19 further complicates things because of the flip-up action of the rear of the canopy. The big problem I usually find is getting the one DOF angle to work with all the movements I need.
Plus I had to use 6 nested DOF's to get enough travel on the pitot tube.

Over at FW's they've been asking for emergency vehicles, when are we going to see them?

Outstanding that MiG - and then the sliding cockpit! Thank you for all your work, I just enjoyed opening the F-16 cockpit for the first time (SP4beta)
