where can i get a full help file on f4browse 2.16

Post by shaunman » 2003-03-08 23:33:00

i would like to know all the settings that can be changed and what they mean.

like for example in the radar settings
beam distance,azimuth,frequency.

and the weapon settings and the flags that can be changed for ships.

if i click on uses its own radar - does that actually do anything?

you got to figure it out and do some test yourself.

nobody can tell everything, we're all do test to find the truth.

Hi Shaunman
that was my first issue when I joined here. Still unsolved - though asking, nobody was able to help. I would have helped to sort the database of errors about naval platforms, if only could grasp the meaning of some entries.
However, some of those entries are quite self-explanatory to me (having RL experience with technical details about naval sensors and weapon systems). So, if I can be of help or anyway you would like to discuss with me about such things (via PM), here I am.
diomedea out.

If I'm correct there is no help file on F4Browse (yet havent even looked) at least in that sense which explains what value does what effect in-game falcon.

You need to study by trial and error or to ask Shawn Agne or other database gurus about learning Falcon 4 database secrets.

However some values are common sense like aircraft range etc which even I can understand/change.

it seems that the problem is in the .EXE and thats why the ships dont really attack as much.

what is the Min Doppler of a radar and the Azimuth

i figured the beam width and length out i think.

and how can a change a missiles max speed?
i know how to change its range but not its manuverability.

What I did was to add some AA-12s (40 to be exact) to the Russian, carrier to see if it will fire any of them. I chose a mission and changed my waypoints to pass near the carrier, I was flying around it to see how many it would actually fire at me, it fired a total of 33 missiles(!!) but none of them came close to me, but it got two A-6Es. So out of the 33 missiles fired, two actually found a target. I have tried adding some AIM-120Bs and AIM-54Cs to the Kennedy carrier, and flying in a SU-33, but no missiles were fired at me.
