To CCC and 3D modelers,
I have a new Crusader 3d model I did a couple of months ago trying to understand modelling with 3D Studio Max! It's a high polys model that needs to be clean a little.
I have imported it in LE and appended to F4.0 but it's displayed upside down and is extremely big (3-4 times a Viper).
I wish to know how to set right dimensions (lenght, wingspan ...) for models in 3D Studio and the way to import it in LE with the correct axis orientation and scale. If anyone interested (CCC?) I can send the model!
Please help, the F8 is a GREAT plane that needs to be included in the Vietnam Teather!!

Re: NEW F8 Crusader 3d model. Help!
the model should be:
in 3ds max view windows,
top view: nose up
left view: nose points to the left.
us resize tool to scal down your model.
then your F8 will look right in LE.
you can also flip or scale model with LE. btw, be sure to control the total poly count.
where to get your model? any render shots?

Re: NEW F8 Crusader 3d model. Help!
Thanks ccc for helping!!!
The model is a 3ds file. It looks good to me except for the air intake that need to be rebuilt. No landing gear but should be easy to add it.
Of course I have 3d rendered pics but .... uhmmm ..... don't know how to post them here (I'm a 3 posts men right now!)
Ciao, Easykill

don't you have to set the scale in the preferences to feet in order to get the right size when importing to le ??
(sorry at work and can't remember properly)
