Your best bet to get some high G's, is to play Falcon on your laptop while travelling at high speed in your car, simulating manoeuvres in real time with the car steering wheel. I know this isn't a joystick and throttle but it should be fun to try...

I once flew an international flight that had "Top Gun" as the in-flight movie. The pilot gave a little laugh when he announced it on the public address system. There *was* a pleasing effect of really being airborn during the movie flight sequences.

My brother pointed out a glaring error in that film (besides the entire fighter jocks as boy toys premise). There is a scene where Tom Cruise and his copilot fly inverted over a MiG, with the canopy bubbles of both aircraft almost touching. Tom's copilot even snaps a picture of the MiG pilot for proof. Only thing is, if the aircraft were that close together, wouldn't the tail assemblies mash into each other and cause an instant catastrophic destruction of both aircraft? Oh well, Hollywood...
