Re: New 3d toys? XXIII
so you do have an F7PG and a Mirage III model already for F4?, can i get that. Also about the Fc1 if i can get a head start i can probably give another shot at Lodeditor to make it F4 compatable and try out my skill (who know's i might be able to make some thing out of it for the community). @ CCC, good work the ekranoplan. Come the ekranoplan with 4 jets in SP4?
Do you know, come the Mirage 5 in SP4?

Here's one to keep the Tomcats busy. The MPS model is one of the ugliest objects in Falcon (togeter with the Beagle) and it's still untouched. Could'nt take it anymore... :p

Re: New 3d toys? XXIII
Wow excellent. Yes you're right.. The Tu-95 was already "fairly basic looking" but the default MPS Tu-16 is indeed "a box with wings". And in the Korean theater, it's quite an important aircraft - it's the only medium bomber available to the Chinese and Korean air forces.
Just one minor question thingie.. Isn't the canopy-angle a bit too steep?
Here are some (well known) images from FAS.ORG:
BTW: Is this an Egyptian or Iraqi Tu-16?
BTW: that MiG-21 on the background of your page - that isn't the SP3 MIG-21 is it? It's absolutely awesome!!! Is it available for download for SP3 somewhere?

Hi Tazz, thank's for the feedback and the pictures. Constructive critics is always appreciated. I will check on the cockpit-area and report back later.
The background shows the old SP3 model with some tweaks applied. In the meantime i have reworked the SP3 model one more time and the latest version will be part of one of the next patches, canopy-roof included. :p

Re: New 3d toys? XXIII
Spike- are you working on MPS model? or based on other 3ds model?
i'll send you Alphasim FS98 model ASAP, have a look, their poly layout is excellent for lod structuring. i simply have no interest in TU16..i'd rather go for Blinder or brewer.
[edit]- it seems you already use that model right?

Re: New 3d toys? XXIII
Nope, i don't have them yet. Can you send me Alphasims Tu-95 and Il-28? I'd like to take a look at them. There aren't too many people working on bombers, most of them still use MPS models. It would be cool to have a new Bone too. I bet there are tons of B-1b meshes on then net.
Could you please send the Beagle to this adress:
santex-heimtextil@t-online.de
Thank you very much.

It sure looks like that.
CCC what else do you have up your sleeves? Didn't you also model a Victor as well?

Re: New 3d toys? XXIII
Here's another small progress update on the Badger. I'm now detailing the cockpit and the landing-gear, texture mapping will soon commence.
web page
ccc, the Mig-21 isn't fully animated. It only has DOFs for canopy, TEF, rudder, elevators, gear and doors. I can send it to you, if you like.
Haven't yet managed to add some airbrakes, maybe at an later point.
Edit: Thank's for the Bear, looks good.

@Tazz, there are tons of raw material waiting to be converted. the rest two V are available in nice 3ds foramt. its a matter of time.
@Spike-
be sure to check tu16 nose cone, it looks odd when comparing with real shots.
mig21, i've that lod already..waiting a more DOFed one - fully gear retracting/deploying/steering..
su35- cool, that nose section looks GREAT -- don't forget static dischargers on wings!

Spike,
That Tu-16 looks absolutely gorgeous, Falcon 4.0 is taking big steps forward once again!
Just curious: are you also planning on giving it a "glass nose" like in the above pics? I think CCC is right, the nose needs a little tweaking.. it looks a pit too pointy I think?

Re: New 3d toys? XXIII
Yes, im going to model the glassy nose with semi-transparent polygons, just like the cockpit. I haven't worked on the nose yet, that's why it looks so odd.quote:Just curious: are you also planning on giving it a "glass nose" like in the above pics? Re: New 3d toys? XXIII
Falconeer from Japan has sent me a detailed F-2 3ds model, along with comparsion 3-view between F16 and F2 for a while. I passed the material to viper master PumpyHead, Apparently he's the guy knowing his model, F-2 can be tweaked from viper lod much easier than a new build.quote:Originally posted by Ender Wiggin:

Re: New 3d toys? XXIII
Spike,
That nose looks just great, really great! Wish I could model like that! (I can't even draw a box in 3DS Max.. LOL!).
Now I think if you'd make that cockpit-window-angle a bit steeper, it would be just perfect. If you look at the pics, you see that the Tu-16 has a very "sporty" cockpit-angle
Will it also get a tailgun? It's really a very very good looking model!

Don't worry, i'll take care of the cockpit angle, as well as the tailgun. Too bad, that we can't animate the turret.

Great page, the close-up shots are really useful. Scale-model pages are always good references, aren't they?
RL is keeping me busy, maybe i can show you some progress this weekend.
