How can I use the IFF Interrogator??

Post by Butcher_ss » 2002-10-12 20:26:00

Hello guys. I am having some difficulty in identifying which is enemy and who is friendly and I am forced to turn labels on. I am not sure how I can use the IFF which stands for Identify Friendly or Foe. I am not really sure how to turn this on. Can someone please help me here guys?? Thanks!!

IFF is not implemented in Falcon sp 3 or other...
Use NCTR or AWACS declare instead.

Butcher_ss' point raises an interesting question though... will it be available on the F16A in SP4?

I know how to use the AWACS declare command but I am not sure what the NCTR is. Can you please clarify what you mean??

Will the IFF interrogator be available in SP4? If not why?? I think that it will be very useful in declaring which aeroplane is Friendly or Foe.

In the cockpit, just below the HUD if I remember correctly there is a button IFF(I have seen it on Aeyes' 1600x1200 cockpit). Does that have anything to do with the IFF interrogatot that I am talking about. Is it the one I mentioned before? Will it work if I press that one??

The button is there in the cockpit(s), but there is no code to give the functionality in any version of F4. SP4 will be data-edits only, so will definitely not have IFF. I think it is unlikely that any future version would have it either.

That is a shame because it takes away a part of realism from the game as the IFF would be used to find out whether the plane is enemy or not. Bad luck for us thathave to play without this. :( :(

I am not really sure about what you are saying. I think they do have the IFF implemented.
