Airbase issues at Nellis in AF

I am having some issues at Nellis with .05 RC in AF I have looked at this for it being leveled and all appears well. Elevation is 1872 all the way around the base.I can take off and land on it, and the recon all appears level. Is this an airbase tile issue? If so how do I fix it? Where are the airbase tiles at? I am working on this theater so our wing can use it for Red Flag, plus a long time ago I was stationed there so Nellis is a fond memory. I would like to make it a great place for out wing to fly. I am always willing to share anything I have done.

I would need to take a look at it, but sounds really strange if you checked that the elevations are OK.

Also, I assume you changed to the green tiles, v0.5 RC should be all desert stuff (at least in the horizon).

Check in the .cam file for which airport objective #/name was used for that particular airport location . If it was the "Gen Airport" (or named "Gen" something) then that is the problem. AF can't use that model because it isn't a finished (complete) model for an airbase. It needs to have another airport substituted for that objective.

This has been an ongoing issue with AF versions of PMC theaters.

I installed .05RC from clean install. It has desert textures in the desert but not in the base or around Vegas. Could the elevation numbers be wrong?

In TacEdit it says Nellis AFB if I am looking in the right place. Save0.cam loaded Object List-Objective.

You have to swap out the Falcon4.vcd and Falcon4.pd files from SuperPAK 4 to get the clear text in tacedit. See this thread on how to do that:

First off thanks to you both Snake Man and Sherlock :!:
I did some of this a few years ago but you know how it goes. Use it or Lose it. :shock:
I had to do an install of the old 4.2 but got the vcd and pd files out of it. Placed them in to my AF install and re ran Tacedit. I didn't see any changes.

The airbase I was thinking of is called "GEN AFB" in the LODEditor list and it is CT#1409 (OCD ID # 1509)in the database. Based on your picture the airport model I was thinking of is not the one you are seeing the problem with. Yours is OCD ID#225 which I believe is CT#125 in LODEditor. Sorry for the mis-direction. It looks like a leveling issue for the airbase to me from your pictures by the way.

..for the moment I think previous version is better than 0.5 : problems in many airbases (I confirm the screenshots reported)(falcon4 AF)
anyway the only thing to do is to work on the airsbases orientation mantaining some desert tiles (this is my opinion)

Nellis AFB is now fixed. It needed to have the area around the base enlarged for terrain elevations. Had to add a row to the left of the airbase. Snake Man I am gonna do some tile work around Nellis and Vegas to make it a little more like RL. I will send a package to you when it is done.

I think I see why Nellis was not leveled now. The airbase tiles are made for a different runway heading that they are set on. In real life the runways are 03/21 and it appears that this is the way the tiles are set. In Falcon they are set to closest 05/23. When the base was leveled it looks like it was done to the tiles and not the actual runway.

I have to say that the elevation problems also exist in Open Falcon 4.5 or 4.7. Nellis AFB has the most serious problem, not only in the two runways, and in the taxiways. Are you going to fix that problems?
