Ok, this are a couple of experiments im doing with photorealistic pictures, thinking about doing a 20x20 km photorealistic in the nevada theatre, probably Las Vegas (which means 400 new tiles, about 10 mb in the final zip), this is just an idea, so still dont know.
This is a real Falcon 4.0 screenshoot, (maybe you don't believe it)
This is just a 5x6 km square, and the borders are not disimulated, anyway, tought this could be cool.

Undoubtedly this one looks great.
but how many new tiles used?
my 2c, use limited unique tiles in featured area, and keep less new ones in monomorphous area?

For this one i used 30, for the LAS VEGAS one im thinking i will need about 400 or something like that.
About the tiles still dont know, maybe i can do what ccc says, more tiles of one type in some areas, still dont know...
