City Tiles for Las Vegas

Post by Com_gp » 2003-02-01 08:49:00

I was wondering if there is anyone out there in making seven 256*256 city tiles for Las Vegas.

The tiles must be only city, no transitions to other terrains or no roads (the big roads for Falcon).

If someone interested just write me an email or post here a reply.

Terraserver definitely has Las Vegas sat images (down to 1m resolution), mostly greyscale tho.

There is one set of colour imagery here tho:

Thanks, although source is not the problem since I can get it from USAF mission editor at really good resolution ;)

hmmm not enough :/ that would be a 100x100 pixel texture. 256x256 is the start for high res tiles.

BTW: tom your tiles look great!!! Cant live without them anymore in korea

Yeah I know. :(
Too bad 'colourizing' grey scale imagery is soo difficult - there's a wealth of 1m imagery out there (and easily accessible).

I have now finished a set of seamless city tiles. Just send me (twaelti AT dplanet DOT ch) the seven tiles you want to "update" and I will do it for you.

Thanks tom2, only that I can´t send you the 7 tiles because i have not done them, what I need is just 7 generic tiles, I mean, no roads no river no nothing, even no transitions, i have a proggie that can do that.

What about using tiles from USAF? THey have a Nevada theater within that simulation and it is suppossed to be a complete match to Las Vegas...

I have thought of that many times, and i though of making a few generic tiles for las vegas using USAF as a source but my biggest problem is my lack of time, if not i would continue making all things i have to make for falcon.

Now that I have released the City tiles, you can just grab them and then pick up whatever tiles you need :D

Tom, your city tiles look great!

BTW, do you plan to work on city-farm transition tiles? original ones look too sharp.
