Vietnam Naval, Army and Airbase deployment

Post by TheSilkMan » 2001-03-21 15:00:00

Snake, Id like for you to start working on placing naval, army and airbases/troops in historical locations in vietnam. Here is a link to get you going. I would greatly like to see the campaign improved. We will need also get multiple F4E squadrons into the sim such that we can have marine and airforce skins in the sim simoultaneously.

Sure I can add more stuff to the campaign, its just that I'm so dumb guy that reading that link gives me no idea of where and what to add. Image I need specific long/lat coordinates and target/object types.

More F-4E squadrons? can do.

I think its time to update the Squadrons, guys have posted the squadron datas earlier so I'll dig those up and try to make best of them.

For starters, see if you can drop several Wildcat FAC ships in the river sections to simulate riveen patrols(may be found in the tactical reference under ships). Not sure if they will be too big for the rivers but its worth a shot. Ill see if I can get more detail on placement of army/marine bases.

I think this site will give you a lot of detail on base locations:

this map looks cool, if convert it for kneemap, should be very close to military standard, i think.
it somewhat reminds me of the maps included in my old Falcon3.0 box.

Well well that rjsmith.com certainly has nice maps. I've always wanted to have those "real" map images so I could check out the tilings of citys/roads/rivers. Very nice.

Also there were nice unit locations listed, I think that web site helps me a lot.

Thank you.

I just got shot down (playing the MiG) by a Hawk and then a Stinger...

The FIM-92 Stinger was IOC 1981 and the MIM-Hawk 1970 and was not deployed in Vietnam.

Just a thought.

Those are the facts we have to live before Realism Patch Group will make Vietnam data edits.

No, my info comes from the Janes Weapons Systems CD, and only seems to mentions Army units in referance to deployments.

I humbly stand corrected.
