Current status?

Post by T_Rex » 2003-10-23 16:13:00

Hey guys! :)

I couldn't remember what the last beta was of the VN theater. With all the era-specific aircraft now available, I was thinking interest in this theater would be rekindled.

Would anyone object if some guys from FF started work on it after the BMS exes become stable? :)

Had a quick talk in the OFP Vietnam bush with Snakeman.
His replies on the subject were:

"Yes sure, when hell freezes over."
and
"no FF Vietnam Theater work ever."

well pretty clear :D :D :D

What?

I don't believe it.

Nothing personal Wid, but that's not the Snakeman I remember. That'd be an insult to the people that put alot of work into it to just leave it as it is now.

If that's what he really thinks, I'd like to hear it from him.

Yes, me.

What Widow told you is the truth, no reason to suspect him being a liar at PMC TFW forum.

You wondered that its a shame if Vietnam Theater is going to stop/stay in this development status, well I've retired but I'm still alive. If a day comes around that I feel this falcon scene is again worth to invest some time on, I'll continue the work on all theaters of ours. Will this day come before F4 engine/graphics turn into todays Falcon AT, well that is another matter...

But for FreeFalcon (FF) individuals taking Vietnam Theater... yes sure, when hell freezes over. Absolutely NO FF Vietnam Theater work, ever.

Well, just like both of us were working on Afghanistan at one time, and there may end up being two European theaters, you can't stop anyone (including FF) from making a new Vietnam theater. That war is too special to too many people to think you can keep people from working on it.

I'm sorry it's come to this.

not going into politics i always wondered why people are interested in a vietnam theater for falcon... after all falcon is a f-16 sim and pre F-16 era aircraft are not modelled well in terms of avionics, FM, and other plus the campaign is dynamic and not suited for "history stuff"...

I'd prefer a europe, nevada, afgha, ODS theater anytime over vietnam or similar stuff...

not going into politics too, it seems BMS or OIR will support non-FBW FMs(for their A-10)..and the chance to add modulized avonics legally is better than past months.
for campaign, i don't think we could develop such a campaign AI to reproduce history bit by bit.. what we could have is a taste of it, that's the limit of sim.

I think that the area sorrounding the Spratly Islands are very interresting. :-)

Seems that several nations are tooling up to defend their interrests for oil in the seas north of Borneo.
