Max altitude of airbases

Is there a maximum altitude at which airbases work? I have one at around 10,000 feet altitude and no matter what I do I get the "bogged down" effect, where I can't taxi without using AB, and need the entire length of the runway to make it to take-off speed with a clean config...

Malc,

have you tried with high-thrust ac like F-22 or EF2000? or test with high-lift ac like An-2? or test with VSTOL ac like Harrier/AV-8, or MV-22?

or, try edit ac parameter with F4browse, reduce it's weight, fuel capacity, remove all loadouts.. see if AI and human can fly it.

if no go.. then got to check acdata dat files.. see if thrust table is off at such high altitude.

hey..tyre friction.. is the airbase right on the ground- 3d runway on the ground? is the airbase on a proper tile?

I think so... I am using new airbase tiles and have flattened all around so there are no steps, etc. Hmmm... I just had a thought - do you airbase tiles need to be "assigned" any different to others? I'll go and have a dig round in pathmaker now...

I'm a twit... rebuilt the .MEA file and all was good in FalconWorld again. Funny how the little things trips you furthest! :oops:

No special "areas" required for new airbase tiles! :D
