2 byte to 4 byte terrain conversion error. Help!

Post by Iceburg » 2008-07-22 11:56:31

After I created my terrain, Applied Cate, and converted to 4 bite this showed up in Terrainview. Is this normal? Does Terrainview read 4 bite l2?

Wow. How big is that?

FF had a Cuba theater in the works several years ago. I'm not sure how much use it would be - and I know there are more resources available now - but if you think you need something, let me know. :)

GoogleEarth was either not around yet, or just beginning.

Yes I am working on a Florida Cuba theater. I thought it would be cool to take off from the Ocala International Airport that is close to my house...Hehe.

The theater size is 128. Anybody know why the Islands appear to be underwater in the screenshot? It only happens after the 2 to 4 Byte conversion.

I need all the help I can get. I am a nubie at this and learning some lessons the hard way.... Don't want to generate terrain until I figure this out.

Eh, I didn't mean that you cannot post the LINK for the image, just dont "hotlink" it so it goes beyond 1024x768 screen resolution while being 200kb in filesize. You did not need to remove the link for the image.

Not sure exactly what you mean by that so I am gonna say no. I have processed it through all the CATE scripts. All was fine in Terrainview until I converted it to 4 byte.

See the cuba.txt (The name of your theater?) created for dem2terrain and copy the coordenates into the configuration file of Theater maker: theatermaker.ini (open with notepad),include the file and introduce the coordenate data.

[cuba]
SW Long= this data is into he cuba.txt
SW Lat= this data is into he cuba.txt
NE Long= this data is into he cuba.txt
NE Lat= this data is into he cuba.txt
X Map Extent=2048
Y Map Extent=2048
X Sections=128
Y Sections=128
X Tiles=16
Y Tiles=16

save the file.

open lod fixer, open l2 file and...

VERY, VERY IMPORTANT, selection: theater> cuba

conversion 4 bits...
Cordialmente,
