say we have a finished & very much flyable 128x128 theater but we want a 64x64 piece of it as a standalone theater.

While you can use terrainview to export terrain segments and tacedit exports objectives and units... however the result is not a match anymore when you try to combine the two (three actually).
Try it. Export 64 segments and then try to export same amount of objects/units in that region from tacedit and then create new set of objectives from there, I'd be interested of seeing how they align together.
