Just started a new Theater

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know i've just begun building a new Theatre. The setting will be Eastern Africa, along the Ethiopian and Somalian border. Although i have to begin from total scratch.. I'm very motivated to actually make this thing work some day...

I'm collection maps and other data right at this moment. If you have any idea's what so ever.. feel free to mail me at any time..

I've been with F4 for some time now.. I once had a website dedicated to it, and i made some add-ons.. But that were only minor things..

I'm gonna do and try my best at this theatre and make the best of it..

Well.. here is the first question.. (how)Can i use 512 tiles? Are 1024 tiles possible? I've read the tutorial posted on this forum.. but i can't quite make it up from it..

In the theater size box (Dem2terrain) the drop menu on Tiles (L2) gives the option 32, 64, 128 and 256. I asume this doesn't mean the tile size to 512?

BTW, the retrieving of the DEM data is a real bitch.. The site constantly loses connection or has error messages..

Nevermind that, i got the DEM data file.. took me an hour or so....

The sizes here are size of theater, not res of tiles. 32 is small - Panama, 64 is standard - Korea, 128 is large - ODS, 256 is massive - pipedream aka world domination.

You have to make tiles before you use them and that is long lasting art work

Of course if your at a later stage, when the theater terrain types are known you can also ask for our ODS tiles giving credit to the creators

The Japaneses site seems dead, the Nevada site's download area is fried and the Aegean site URL is gone...

Newbie alert!!
When I get to "Part 2, Theater Directories" of the Ultimate Theater Tutorial it says to edit the L2 how I want with a reference to the CATE tutorial.
I use CATE but cant for the life of me work out how to get a .csv dump of airbases from tacedit without a cam-trn-tac file to load into it. Mainly I want the airbase csv for the sample CATE config #4. How should I do it?
I tried creating one with D2T when it made the original .L2 and only had the Airbase features loaded, but alas it is not as detailed as the csv that tacedit creates and does not give me the information CATE needs to work from....
Im just using standard Korean tile/textures atm.
