Cold War Germany (Tazz): BDR (West Germany), DDR (East Germany) and part of Poland and perhaps the Czech Republic.

Status: Left Geographical data gathering stage (DEM, E00) and now in pre-tile stage, investigating tiles. I dunno if thats Pre Alpha, Beta, Gamma or Delta. Image

When larger maps are possible, perhaps the low lands and Denmark can be added as well.

Possibly thinking about a Germany/Switzerland/Austria Alps scenery for later. (For that great "Deathstar like trench experience"!)

I think that called pre-omega Image Image Image

BTW, will the next theater overlap with the first?

OK, AFAIK, I heard there are US-Mexico, Pruto Rico, Giberato, Agean Sea, Hawaii, etc.
I'll ask their project leaders to post something here, so we can learn to what percentage we cover the globe. Image

For all future theater makers:

Please contact me (mnelles@gmx.de) if you want to make a (first) beta release.

I worked days and nights together with Joel Bierling (well, not really ;-) ) to get a F4Patch theater switching process to work which has evolved to be a standard for future theater releases.

I'd be happy to help out in f4patch file creation for your theater.

Well, as far as I understand this thread is to merge already tiled areas from one theater that overlaps another one...
So West Iraq and a part of Jordan and Saudi Arabia probably hasn't to be tiled by you...

Hi there,

Just wanted to let you all know that there's also some work been done to create a Frisian Flag Theater......wich implements The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark and a part of Germany and France. Its still in pre-alfa stage and there are lots of changes needed, for instance new tiles!
Anyway the project is slowly progressing.

that's all for now folks,

Cheers, Steely!

Folks,

I am in the early stages of obtaining maps of North Africa;

Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, etc.

I am new at building and tiling maps but want to get this off the ground. I have the DEM2L and Terrain View programs. Have begun work but it just takes time is all.

I am not doing any theaters (Kinda like the Cockpit thing instead), but I have also seen references to at least two more. A Hawaii and a Carribean Theater. Can't remember who is doing them or what state they are in. Sorry.

Hi guys,
My theaters are Hawaii , Fulda Gap(Germany, Austria, Switzerland,Poland,Chekslovakia(sp) and hopefully a Korea addon - Japan(all of it) with tip of Korea. Hawaii is about 40% done, including a campaign and mods. Fulda is just auto tiled and pop centers objectives done. Research is done. Have been waiting for better autotiling , which exists now I believe. Japan is just my dream at this point... once Hawaii is finished, Japan will replace it, timewise. German is a long term project due to its size and density of objects and so will run in tandem with Hawaii/Japan. Sure would be nice to find some help....

WOW! Crossup you run one more theater than Snake Man!! Image

Be sure to use all latest tools and theater-making tricks!!
Hawaii is great, hope you can incorporate some MSFS tiles, check thread: Nevada theater by Com_gp, incredible terrain by new tiles, photorealistic!
and Japan theater is cool too. what war will be there? Tom Clancy again? Image
How about a Kurile theater? much closer to the real world.
and your Europe theater..well, dunno if it overlap with Tazz?

BTW, just to note all theater-makers again, Manfred is very kind to help your theater "F4Patch-compatible" for public release! Image

I'm still can't find my start point! My system is Windows 98 based programs, no Linux available here.

I have download the maps, trying to convert it to proceed with the next steps. Help me!!!!

Maybe its not the same stuff as our Vietnam Theater, same situation that we have with T-Bone's MidEast and our Operation Desert Storm. Two maps are basically "identical" but totally different in the content.

If its for example futuristic war between thailand and cambodia for example, then its definitely different theater. But if the terrain exists in 128 Vietnam, then why not just use it and make small TE/Campaign files for it...

I have checked Vietnam Theater from time to time, and agreed with some points you guys are doing. :-)

Anyway, the Vietnam Theater will be used for the past war in 1969 ! and you can only have Korat to the left of your map. We can't have the Bangkok, Chiang Mai, or some part of Myanmar because of the map limitation. And I wan't to use the Thailand Theater for some folks here, cause we have 2 Falcon nests in Thailand (Korat and Taklee, central part of the country and out of your Vietnam Theater), we might have another airbase for F-16 ADF next year :-(

Then I have planned to make the theater for training purposes rather than bring them back to the old war.. but yes, I have your Vietnam installed :-)

Your suggestion is highly appreciate. Thanks

PRC/ROC Theatre with south central china down to the entire island of Taiwan. In early early development stage. I understand someone else has started a theatre like this but he has not responded to any emails on requests for his status. I am trying to learn how to "think Falcon" after doing so many upgrades in Janes FA and F/A-18!

Falcon is my love though so I hope to get it all squared away. Some of my "new" ideas for this theatre have been railroads, new Russian airbase textures, and a functional amphib assault with fully functional assault vehicles for the ground forces and a possible nuclear exchange scenario with ground launched IRBMs.....

Here is Libya. Don't really know what is causing the red area on the coast. Guess this could be early early alpha stuff. It is slow work but I am pushing thru to get to the end of it.

i'm not agree with you. my theater is below sea leveal acutally the lowest place on earth. there is not such thing as a red sea cuase of that. all you will be get is a 0 altitude for every less then 0 or 0 leavel hight. the reasone for your error is cuase of the bin. just try to set the bin, pal and other config in the terrain view again. and it will be fine.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will attempt a reload to see if I can get rid of the red. Anyway, on the Libya area,,,,I dunno. It could be cool to get in a F111 and make that run again on Khadafi's HQ but I am thinking maybe something current with hostilities escalating due to the continued oil exploration out there! Really I am kinda open to ideas.
