How can I port my Nam Pack missions to VTE?
I have fairly complete PowerGREP configuration files which do the conversion basically on simple run.

What I do is to take the mission directory, open mission.sqm and remove the addons[] and addonsauto[] from mission, intro, outro and hum loose or what ever there was. Then I run the PowerGREP to it. Finally I load the converted mission into OFP mission editor, preview and save so now it has new addons[] lists and no missing addon errors come up when playing.

So how can you do it... well I could send you the powergrep configuration file, or if you're lazy, you can send me the mission directory (just remove images/sound files for quick transfers) and I'll do the conversion for you.

Nah, send me the tool and the tutorial.

Could I also try and replace the unit names with VTE unit names since all the problems are coming from nampack stuff?

Well I have no tutorial, just the configuration file, or paste of it actually. The tool you can get from the net, freeware/pd stuff with some registeration nag.

Umm, not sure I understand... the powergrep thing is made to replace the unit/vehicle etc classnames.

I'll take the config files on the other hand mate and have a go myself.

Yeah I was just going to reply that I'm having a little bit difficulties to download from that link. Can you give me your email so I can send you the config paste.

That makes two of us, all I can remember is that I sended you the ported *.SQ* files which includes mission.sqm and scripts. Maybe there was description.ext too cant be sure.

So how to make those work, just overwrite the original mission with those and load up in mission editor(?).

Nah, didn't work. Also I found that a few of the files, most in fact, still had the old class names. Didn't you say something about deleting classnames from somewhere?

Well yes the Addons[] and AddonsAuto[] parts need to be deleted as they contain all kinds of garbage in the original mission.sqm, but there should not be any SEB NAM classnames left in the files that I converted.

Which classnames did you see from the original mission still in there?
And what error do you get if you overwrite the original mission with the files I sent and try to load it on mission editor with VTE v0.3?

I think I got it.

I was getting no model special errors from ammo crates but I changed them to BIS ones and now I think I'm rolling. Look forward to a post from me soon with 4 great missions.

Cheers Snake.

Cheers.

I'm still getting these errors,

No entry config errors including,

In mission
JAM_SKS
JAM_762_30HDMagn

In startup
SebFlaregun

These are approximate syntax.

Resend the missions back to me (but take out ogg/big images if there is any) and I'll try to fix them.

I got all but that one fixed. Maybe I'll go try and fix the thing by getting rid of all the SKS Gooks.

Bingo! Got it.

You might find this useful.

In Sebnam, you could have HD mags or non HD mags. The non, had n after the mag bit.

This is what was causing me trouble. Your package has just searched for the normal mag classname, not the magn class.

Cheers Snake.

I'm glad you got it working, I'll make a note about the N magazine names, some of them indeed might have slipped pass my conversion "rules". Thanks.
