one solution to vte not starting up

i was having the following problem, but i was able to discover what i was doing wrong; i'm just going to put it up here in case anyone else runs into it:
when i start up ofp with the VTE mod running i get the following error:

No entry 'binconfig.bin/CfgInGameUI.MPTable'.


ofp continues to start up, but when i get to the main screen i get the following error:

No entry 'binconfig.bin.CfgFonts'.


and then none of the sp missions, campaigns, or addons will load when i start a mission, instead sending me back to the main screen.
my mistake was that I was trying to run VTE through OFP Launcher instead of creating a separate shortcut for it.




i do have some questions of my own though:
- is there a changelog for VTE anywhere?
- how do i know which of the missions in VTE are MP-compatible?
- are there any MP servers running VTE?

Its satisfying to see that all the errors people get with VTE are caused by wrong installations and not VTE. I quess for the next release its time to add some warning disclaimers about launchers, ecp and such.

Changelogs for the patch #1 and #2 were in those mentioned patch readmes. But let me paste them here for you to read.

- how do i know which of the missions in VTE are MP-compatible?
Two of them I recall had _MP ending on the filename, others like green hell, greenies, rat patrol and busy day to name a few, are playable in SP and MP so I just dropped them to the SP dir.

I do not have full list of MP compatible missions.
- are there any MP servers running VTE?
I dont know much about OFP multiplayer scene today and I dont know any VTE dedicated servers.

I would be glad to work on a batch of MP missions out of those included with the mod.  Our group wants to rework them anyway to add group respawn and ECP compatability... I agree - I have found zero issues with VTE itself! some on the missions could be fixed up, but they come from all over...

Greenies is one excellent mission!  It is definitely MP...

I dont know much about OFP multiplayer scene today and I dont know any VTE dedicated servers.
i strongly suggest you create a separate MPMissions folder with all MP-compatible missions for your next release; although the ofp mp community is admittedly not huge, there are people/servers who get together to play various addons.

you should definitely consider contacting the guys at ofp.info, they have recently established their own MP server with the sole purpose of hosting various addon-packs from week to week.
