What kind of Rucksack / Backpack's the units used in Vietnam?

And how many magazines of ammo the units carried on them, or other supplies/stuff they had?

"In our ruck sacks we carried extra ammo, extra smoke grenades, one or two flares, extra ammo for the machine gunner, and an entrenching tool which is a small fold-up shovel for digging fox holes and fighting positions."

Just completed a Force Recon book (Force Recon Command, ISBN 0-8041-1023-9), whereby it stated that when the MFR troops went on combat patrol, they "typically did not carry anything less than twenty magazines for their primary weapon."

yes, from my RL experience (not in 'Nam) ammo and other mission critical equipment (Nods, batteries, field telephones/wire, claymores, LAW's, etc.) would be the primary concern...then food, then additional socks (if Infantry) and then snivel gear.
