Re: Eu terrain update

Hi Luk! I've been away for some time in estonia, I'm in Riga right now waiting for my flight back to frankfurt. Looks very good again. I think there is some problem with just porting the hill tops all to SAM sites- it leads to what you have described. I will have to find some number that works out. ...

Re: Eu terrain update

Hi Luk, pretty good work so far! Well, the balkan theater was back in those days with the SP series. I think they improved the AI a couple of times since then and I also noticed they are better with the approach and terrain avoidance now. If you say it's OK then we don't need to. Btw.: I got those h...

Re: Eu terrain update

Hi Luk! Thanks a lot for your shots! I've been busy some time. My boss told me to take some free time because it would be "not so much work during february and march" but the opposite happened. I've been away for almost the whole month  Nevertheless, I got it working in FF5.5, but... I used FF5...

Ah, so then I only checked destroyed airbases. I clicked an airbase- destroyed. Clicked another airbase- destroyed. I just couldn't find any that was operatable... Bad luck... Re: Eu terrain update

I think this is the same issue now, I will try to delete the hill tops or convert them. It is indeed tricky, because the FF5 database is locked and nobody will give me any information about which objective is what number. I also found out that all objectives are broken with the new te_new.tac. I cli...

Re: Eu terrain update

Hi Luk, I got it. I used the wrong terrainview, shame on me. Oooops. The texture.zip is alright then. Well, the reason why it was not working with FF5.5.3 is that I did not create the dds files. SnakeMan had asked this question before in some thread over at freefalcon, but got not reply... He...

Re: Eu terrain update

Hi Luk, thanks for your new map. However, I wanted to use it in FF5.5 and had some problems... I copied the texture.zip (with payware HiTiles) from F4AF (should match yours, I think, FF 5.5.3 doesn't use the HiTiles anymore, so I used that one from F4AF) to the textures folder, copied the new textur...

Re: Eu terrain update

Luk, you can send me the files anytime, I will be checking the mailbox not daily, but at least at the weekends. I just don't have the time to do a lot of work. I will then start editing as soon as I find the time to do so. I think I could find some "beta-testers" in my family ;-) May god bless and p...

I will be away for one, two or even more weeks- we got a few people on holiday, one boss is ill for some time and a lot of trouble going on... Maybe I'm even going to estonia for about a week. So, I think I could help out in the middle of september or so- Is there anything I can do on the objectives...

YEHAA! Your tip with the hilltops was the big winner on this one. I just deleted all hilltops, and all of a sudden everything worked!    You have to copy quite some files in order to make it work (object directory from F4FF/terrdata/objects, strings, valid a/c fi...

Re: Editing Europe v0.6 in Tacedit without CTD?

Hi Luk, well, there are quite a few objectives that you added and I don't want to delete all of them... I just can't imagine that FF5 had so massive database edits that many ID's got incorrect. You can also send me your TAC file, and I will go on trying with that one. We still can correct that file ...

Re: Editing Europe v0.6 in Tacedit without CTD?

I now started a thread over at the FF5 forum to see if anybody can provide me some details on the OCD ID's of the ground objectives. I think I might have figured out why the game crashes in FF5.5, I think they changed some objectives so that some objectives got invalid. If not, I tracked it down to ...

Great work! If you could look into my head, I could give you a picture of Kiel Holtenau... :-D Kiel has both, a smaller airstrip (mostly for civil purposes, if any military use at all) and a helicopter squad (MFG 5) operating Seahawk helicopters stationed in the military part of the harbor. And yes,...

Re: Eu terrain update

It takes way too long time to check the airbases in-game 3D. Sure that is the final place where the results can be seen... but terrainview still gives accurate info on the finalized L2 file. You'll save much time if you do the checking in terrainview, just see that the airbase and surrounding eleva...

I forgot: I only made some short flights yet, so I am not 100% sure about the buffer overrun.

Does somebody know why there is still "nowhere" displayed in the OOB although it is correct on the map?

Notes to Tobias Adam: FYI. There may be more than one objective that is bad. Just be aware of that. Also, once all objectives, links and PAK city selections are 100% complete, I will work to get the PAK selector map working as well as the team map painting for TEs. Re: - mid eighties (1984-1989) campaign editing/creation -

I read Tobias' other thread about adding more objectives than the current 12,000. Bad idea IMO. We do not have a single harbor or helicopter base yet, even army bases are very, very few. Until now, I got a fully working Tac/save0.cam file which does not crash at all in F4AF. In FF, there is some da...

Re: Editing Europe v0.6 in Tacedit without CTD?

Ok, did some more testing. Fixed ALL parent links. In F4FF5.3, it crashes. In F4AF, I am able to save a TE. It seems there's something in the database... At the current state, I fear that there will be no further development with the objectives in FF since I have no chance to figure out what objecti...

Is there any chance to get it working without the payware tiles? Thank you for the background image. I just detected that some import-export-stuff screwed up my border parent links... "Bad feature count" in TacEdit

Hi, I reworked the objectives (mainly parent links). Now, TacEdit gives me a "bad feature count" when checking the objectives. Strange thing is that it works in the te_new.tac. In this file, I... ...exported the objectives from save0.cam... ...deleted all objectives from te_new.tac... ...saved and c...

Impressing... I know the german border, but seeing the whole thing at once is quite impressive... You really can imagine why this has been called the "iron curtain". Yep. Those do not have a parent. That's why I wanted to rework those. Also, sometimes the parent is wrong- and so the name is wrong. Do you have any timeframe for the release of your terrain together with your objectives? We can also wait some weeks, that really does not hurt. Two or three months don't do it either. Parent links in Europe theater

Hi! Is there anybody working on the missing objective parent links in the europe theater? If not, I'll start working on them, starting in germany, and then heading north, south, east, west... I think those might cause a CTD, also, many of them are wrong. If nobody else already started with that, I'd...
