Re: Location, Yankee Station
Ya, Wolf is impressing everyone over there, with his 'nam screenshots, but Strike Fighter's still doesn't have Carrier Ops. The modders still haven't been able to make a landable aircraft carrier, nor catapults.

Location, Yankee Station
Here's a tidbit. Gerry Carroll's North SAR has a map showing Yankee Station as three separate areas, called Routes. Blue Route, Red Route, and Gold Route. Carriers would operate within these routes depending upon where in their AO their strikes were targeted. http://members.shaw.ca/hamm172/Yankee1.j...

Actually, Broughton wrote TWO F-105 books. The second in the late 1980's was a tell-all called: "Going Downtown- The war against Hanoi & Washington" It really expands on incidents in "Thud Ridge" and names names and a**holes. He even goes into detail into his courtmartial (following the Turkistan in...

I've been collecting pics of mig21 pits too, for the nam theatre. I do not know if the USAF operated F-5's in SEA, but they did equip the VNAF with a squadron of F-5A's in 1967 ( the 522nd FS )and I have seen pictures of F-5E's being uncrated and assembled in Bien Hoa in 1972.

The operational Units I have listed at U-Tapao were (from 1967 to 1973) 43rd SW, 4133rd BW(P) initially flying 15, and later as many as 54 B-52Ds by 1972. The crews would fly 2/3rds of their missions from Guam, and then rotate to UT for some shorter, easier duration flying. Then, in the spring of 72...
