Thank you for your kind comments. If you ever do figure out the meaning of the zero length files (as in how do the p3d models actually get their data under that circumstance, please let me know and I will add that knowledge to the write-up at Ofpec. (and credit you)
thanks.

Any 'file' name XYZ.*** is autoconverted to zzz by the exe in order to scribble it to the hard drive. there is no rhyme or reason *which* files are treated in this manner, some are paa files, some are sqms, what our Russion comrades did was arbitrarily select any random files to mistreat in this man...

I have no idea what you think you're fixing there Airblade, that entry is nothing more, and nothing less, than the standard pbo : resistance file format where the first three entries are product strings. ramsize is irrelevent in terms of whether this (or most other things) crash or not. you can run vte with only a 256 meg ramstick if that gives you a thrill. You'll be playing a slomo game though :) The optimum size for almost all flashpoint inspired campaigns/ missions is somewhere around 3..400meg ...

Re: PMC Dynamic CE crash!
If it's not related to a specific part of the mission, eg it just seems to happen anytime for no reason, there's a very strong possibility that you have a memory error. A ram stick issue in your computer, and / or, your video card. Not putting the blame back on you, it's just a real possibilty. As a...

First let me say I dont use *any* of these mods myself. Yet ! I have checked some of them out as being ok, but all of them assist in creating dumbed down Ai because the cpu crunch needed for the ai brain is being diluted. But, the point behind them, especially ECP, is to provide a more universal int...

accuracy you can take this as gospel, or, you can argue about it. accuracy has nothing to do with the soldier's or any other 'vehicles' ability to shoot things. It is the detection level *before* an enemy can spot them, or it. Typically, houses and large'ish buildings have an accuracy of 0.25 and ta...

great news
I now have what you're looking for, a depbo.dll that you can attach to c++ OR visual basic code to sniff inside pbo files.
grab it from
http://www.ofpec.com/editors/list.php?show=pending
or
http://andrew.nf/ofp/tools/
I will supply source code on request
