Custom Addons into WRPtool

Post by wedge » 2005-10-24 15:27:51

I have made quite a few addons in o2 that i want to use in WRPtool.
I have put the file with all my P3ds etc in the correct path. But they do not load in. I also cannot load them into ODOL exp either.

I have worked out that a o2 Addon saves as MDOL so how do i get it to ODOL then into WRP???

Please Please any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Use the NEW version of binarize to "binarize" your p3d models, that turns them into ODOL models.

when you say NEW do you mean the one from the BREATHE page or is there a later release.

I have the one downloaded from breathe but looking at it , it didnt make much sense.... i presume its not that dificult so if its not too much trouble could you give me a quick rundown of the process as the readme really sucks.

Many thanks

Yes I believe the breathe page has the new October 14th, 2002 dated binarize.

You have to have all the CUSTOM ADDON files needed in the addon dir setup, just like with WrpTool. Binarize needs to be put into this same root dir, then just run the binarize batch file and it will produce the ODOL binarized model into the Opt directory.

If you have any more specific questions, just ask.

jeez... im gonna sound really stupid now.

I just cant get my head aroundit.

I created a folder named Binarize on my C: drive. I then extracted all the contents of the Binarize.RAR into that folder.

So from here what do i do?? ... i have my addon folder with about 10 or so addons this folder is named "shad_wallpack".

Do i put this in that binarize folder or somewhere else??

Im really sorry about this..im sure i will be kicking myself once its done!

I suggest you use the same data root directory as with WrpTool. Just put binarize into the root of that dir.
So from here what do i do??
I believe with binarize you get the "BIN.BAT" file, I have edited my own to look like this:

Code: Select all

rd /s /q Opt
md opt
binarize.new -textures=Opt -exclude=exclude.lst VTE_sea Opt

pause
I'm using the OLD and NEW binarizes, both exes are in the root, named binarize.old.exe and binarize.new.exe which I'm actually using in that batch file example. VTE_sea is my addon dir what I'm binarizing in this example.

So just execute that "BIN.BAT" file and binarize processes the VTE_sea (or whatever your custom addon dir name is).
Do i put this in that binarize folder or somewhere else??
No I have my VTE_sea dir in the familiar d:bis WrpTool data directory. So its d:bisvte_sea basically. Binarize is d:bisbinarize.new.exe and the batch file is d:bisBIN.BAT location.

ok ive tried everything you said...but i just cant sort this thing.

So .... i put my Binarize + Bin.bat into my wrptool folder ..... the one that contains all the exe's.
I also put my Addon folder named "shad_wallpack" into that main Wrptool directory also

like this C:WRPtool_Core   ..... this contains all of my WRP stuff and now contains binarize.exe + Bin.bat  .

right

firstly im not sure how to "Edit" bat files so i made my ownlooked like this

rd /s /q Opt
md opt
binarize -textures=Opt -exclude=exclude.lst shad_wallpack Opt

pause

this just gave me a load of errors ?

It created the Opt file but it was empty

in my addon folder i have about 10 addons plus textures plus config.

im just getting more and more confused. I have one version of binarize downloaded fron Breathe

:-[ :-/

EDIT: k i think i just sorted it

thanks for your help so far man can i let you know if i get any other probs

i got the addons Binarized ok so thanks for that, they show up in WRPtool perfectly.

Now i have a new problem.

My addons are not showing up in game...... they are definatly there as i cant walk through them but they are completely invisible and are not showing up on the map?

Any ideas
