well as far as i did get this there is the schema for textures
1-2
3-4
this way you (should) do also the naming part.
yet sometimes wrptool does flip certain textures (horizontal reflected)
like
3-4
1-2
well you can flipped them by yourself like in photoshop, but its then against the system - what the reason for this?

Re: textures are flipped
As far as I know Visitor does this too. I always apply my textures to the island with its rule system and preview in ofp, where the textures seem to indeed be upside down atleast on the other side of a mountain for example. With runwaytextures etc you must take this into account, there's just no other way and I haven't seen an explanation for this.

Indeed Visitor is the best tool for ground textures. For runway textures use photoshop7. I think Pantool also has a texture feature but it doesn't generate some so its best to use visitor.
