Bad luck on this one. I have rock solid DEV issued version of OF 4.5 installed. All other theaters good. This one is a CTD when choosing make new TE in the first camp or if I select a camp it also CTD. In second Camp option Simply selecting the second theater option results in a CTD.

Thanks,

Wildcat

No, I'm using RV. I can't even enter the mission planner screens for campaign or TE... dogfight and IA don't work either.

I did the testing on RV, works fine one campaign. I let it run on 32x speed for several hours, no problems. The 3d world causes CTD.

Sorry no news on this one, I havent done any theater editing since the last theater release. I havent gained any knowledge in this time so I dont know how to fix the CTD issue, it comes to just fiddling with the units and stuff to track the problem down.

Sorry that it takes so long to get around to fix this, but thats how it is now. Of course if anyone would be willing to help, to test the campaign with only few squadrons, only few ground batallions etc to which of them cause the crash, it would be very much appreciated. If we find out the cause of the crash, I could then get around and do a hotfix release.

Anyone willing to help?

I would suggest that it is likely to be bad objective(s). I saw this same behavior when playing around with an Iran64 theater I was putting together/testing.

Any idea whats broken in the objectives, like linking or?

I'm not sure but the impression I got was a bad feature set for a particular objective in the database. Caused 3D CTDs.

One way to test my theory is as follows:

1. See if CTD occurs at only the 3D starts in one area of the theater. If you can change to an airfield and go 3D in another corner of the map and the game doesn't CTD, then it probably is a bad objective in that area of the map where you experienced the CTD.

2. If the game CTDs no matter which part of the theater you try to start from then it is likely something else.

Yeah good points, that definitely will narrow it down, thanks. I'll try those (please remind me later when next dev cycle starts if I dont get around to this, however I wrote it now down to Korea 128 bugs list so I'll check it out).

As I posted earlier, I can run the 2d campaign long time on 32x time, no problems, its the 3d that CTD's and usually its not right away but some (minutes) into the mission.

I usually run the Tacedit checks for all my campaigns, so I cant imagine it being bad feature set (as I recall the features are set automatically with the checks). We'll see how it turns out.
