One must admidt that the Mid-1990's were the golden ages of Flight Sims. With movies like Independence day, Air Force One and Broken Arrow and TV shows like Extreme Machines, Weapons at war, and Wings the interest in military aviation was at an all time high.
As time passed, however, we saw flight sims slowly lose their popularity.
However....
I just saw a TV commerical tonight for the movie, "Behind Enemy Lines" staring Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson from Shanghai Noon. From the TV commerical there are F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornets. The plot is about a fighter pilot who is shot down by a SAM over Chechnya after photographing a mass grave. Gene Hackman, the pilot's commanding officer, sacrifices his rank for getting the pilot back.
I'm sure Hollywood is trying to raise a sense of patriotism in the States after the events of the 11th... and its time sims come back to life!
