Error: 81 C:\falcon4.....

Sorry folks...I'm just not getting a grip here. Every thing seems to install ok, shows up in F4Patch, check it off and

ERROR:81 C:\falcon4\graphics\terrain\tlevel.cpp dec 9 1999

I am not as good as some of you with the computer. I have been and still am reading the forums here, but can't seem to get this right.

This has been answered already several times. You need to run F4PTinstall.exe or ntF4PTinstall.exe (which ever lies in your falcon directory).

There is no "F4ptinstall.exe or ntf4ptinstall.exe in my F4 folder. I've read those post. Are you refering to F4Patch_standard 3.22, or what? this is why I'm trying to get some help (THANK YOU by the way)

It should be there, copied by the installer. try it again.

Why dont you install Balkans or Israel theaters, they use the same installer as Vietnam. If those theaters dont add the F4PTinstall.exe to your falcon dir, then only option available is to get you the file manually.

"Great minds" about 5 minutes ago I started the Balkans download (i still gotta find the Israel) with the same thing in mind. But...I didn't know I could get the patch manually. I actually kinda gave up for a spell but returned here to check this post.

P.S.- I am running windows ME come to think of it. Would that be a prob?

UPDATE:
I downloaded "balkan powderkeg theatre", double kliked the EXE and everything went smoothe. Works great!
Going to bed, my eyeballs are crossed, will return sometime after sunrise USA time.

Yes. Guys have been telling that Israel theater installer bugs with the pkunzip/pkzip dos window's. However that should not effect the copying of the ntF4PTinstall.exe file.

Personally I think that there is absolutely no reason in gaming wise to use anything else than Win98SE + DX8, but they thats just stupid me

Hmm I hope it copied the F4PTinstall.exe into your falcon dir?

Now activate Vietnam theater and run the exe to rebuild terrain. Let me know of it goes.

YEP!!! the Balkans Theatre put the F4ptinstall.exe in my Falcon 4 folder. I HAVE ran it and now ALL theatres are in my F4patch and run properly.
Thanks to anyone who has tried to help me and to Snake Man and the others for building these add-ons. I don't know how you do it.
