Some extra views and improved older ones in this version.
Slowly the pit is growing into something more serious Image

Looks absolutely great!

I havent yet installed this myself, actually havent been much flying lately as there was some campaign problem that came up. But you have done superb work for Vietnam Theater support, thanks!

Well, i definetly need yr pics though Image
There is a part 2 in this pit with the backoffice.
Btw the drawing was going fine tonight so i added 2 more views already being v1.006 again
Sorry for the download sizes, but keeping it as 1 package is a bit more clear.

Hi brewski,
we definitely need photos, especially the one taken at pilot's eye-level, to decide the FOV of 2D center view.

Aeyes,
thanx for your effort on phantom pit. after intensive flying in phantom pit, i got to admit panel arts occupied too much space, make AA/AG manuevering a bit frustrating.
my tweak here, what you think?

Hey Aeyes,

Your 1.006 version doesn´t download. Can you fix it?
Scan them, see them, shoot them.

The URL is wrong - it should be
http://falcon40.virtualave.net/zips/v1.006.zip

ie a lower-case v in the v1.006.zip

BTW excellent work Aeyes!

Cheers,
Keith

The link is fixed at the site, i shoudn't do uploads that late after pitmaking Image

Re POV's, i know what ya mean CCC, and i am still puzzling about it, also taking the amount of WSO views in consideration.
I kinda wanna switch downwards to the WSO pit.
It's hard to change views as u suggested because it will mean loosing the MFD in the up view and rest of instruments in the 12 o'clock center view.
Making it a wide pit isn't really an option either, to much pit would result in to small details to read.
The limited view outside bothers me too, and i have done some good hours testing it in the Nam campaign.
About the examplepics u made, the low view is really to low, because that would mean loosing the RWR.
At this moment i would think of using your upview but a little bit higher with complete RWR and keep the center view basically as is.
But again, am still puzzling about it.
We'll see whats the best compromise, because if there is one thing i have learned making non F-16 pits in Falcon, it is making compromises

well, Aeyes, lets wait brewski bring us the right pics, then decide the next step.
BTW, agree you including rwr in 12-up view.
and, i still prefer abit more canopy view in 12-center view. it simply makes AA/AG job easier.

wait..I just check TAZZ's phantoms shots on F4community board. Look at the level of pilot's head, he got good view there, his hemlet probably over the front canopy rim!

Great work Aeyes!
will you be making every applicable instrument in the final version. Whats the chances of clickable buttons???

Problem I have found with most cockpits I have tried is that with only one MFD they are impossible to use since Falcon4 is designed around a 2 MFD system.

I have to say my only criticism of what I have seen is the view of the wings over the shoulder - the wings really don't look right sorry.

CCC, i saw that too, the pilots do sit rather high, i have a couple of shots in books and the same is happening on these.

Mantis, there will be clickable buttons and lights inthere, but that will take some time.
At the moment this is only betastuff in its earliest stage and it is about 10 days ago before the first view was made.
Everything you see may be right or wrong or going to be changed, it's a long process.
As i explained before, with the Vietnam beta releases i wanted to share the development of the pit in every way and detail by uploading latest views and progress.
That means you will see many wrong and weird things, but also things that can only be finished. Those wings are 1 day old and definetly not ready, the shape alone is incorrect.

Re MFD's, that is a problem yes, but see it this way, the WSO has a nice task there to work with more than 1 MFD.

I have added an extra view for the frontpit so that there are 2 up views, one with the MFD and one without.
I needed the extra views anyway to be able to add the WSO office. That causes the downwards view to be replaced by the WSO up view, so u can click backwards into the WSO pit.
Working on those but need more pics.
In general i cant upload the upgrades since the whole weekend the server was down of my ADSL ISP.
Will add those and a lot more working stuff when server is up again.

I finally flew a couple of missions with your cockpit and it really is just amazing feeling. No more F-16 cockpit for Vietnam!

Good work.

Visited your site, very sweet... Oh yeah. I was wondering how does the WSO view work?

Beautiful!

my only complaint is the 10_12_c. suggest leave campass to 10_12_d view.

lol, what is a "campass" ?
Btw, i have changed the views as u suggested and it is possible to switch into that top view u showed before. the 10_12c stays the way it is though for now.

Snake, what you basically do is when u switch downwards you will enter the WSO pit.
it has its own 10 and 2 and 3 and 9 o'clock views and a downwards view as well.
The good news is even the reflections matched Image
