Thanks for posting the images!
What do you think of it?
It still is on early stages but it's working. You must see the map moving while you are flying!! It's great!
Later this evening I'll try to use your values and see if I come up with something usefull. My main goal for now is to get the right maps with the exact measurements, and also with a good resolution. As you can see the one I have as a very good resolution (4mb bmp).Tell me what you think of it.

AWESOME!
Reminds me of the AWACS moving map from Jane's FIGHTER ANTHOLOGY days.
Zooming would be very cool, too.

Yes it's stand alone and you can run it on a second PC, just wait for Erwin's F4Data program to send the variables over the network. Meanwhile if you 2 video cards you can puit it on a second monitor.
Thanks for the offer. As soon as I progress more I'll post some pics.
As for beta testing, let me just solve the coordinates and I'll send it a copy for you to test it.

Ok let me get this straight: that program of yours "Moving Map" will take some feedback from Falcon 4.0 sim and move on its own screen the map according where you are flying?

That sounds pretty goddamn good, if you have second PC or somesort of dual monitor thing (not many people have that I believe).

Yes! Image . Falcon provide us with info that yow can find in the zip I've sent to you (flightData.h) in a shared memmory location. So, using a modified version of debug.zip we can extract all the variables and use them.
I't important that the map used must be exactly the same used in TE or Campaing or with the same size.
The more features it as, the better.
I've notice that all the maps that are in Vietnam theater are all low resolution, can't you make a higher resolution one?

hey pedro

the zip seams to be corrupted the *.bmp in the data dir dir doesn't seem to be willing to unpack bad CRC

got the program to run however on a TV output bmp 2048 256 yet it didn't showed the map only a black map with the right upper part white

still this will only be due to bad zip
hope..

(btw on my Voodoo3 2000 machine it killed itself on some *.dll ...I'll give more detail later)

see ya

Yes, the upload went wrong.
I'll try to upload again.
In order to use it you must start Falcon4 first and then F4MM. It goes to the down left corner of the map (X=0,Y=0). Once you start a mission, falcon4 starts to feed the variables.

If the program still doesn't works, reduce the bitmap resolution to 1024x1024 and see if it works.

Well I will upload the version you send me Sunday

maybey you want to extend the readme a bit

suggestions:

-a tab in wich you can switch theater intead of running a second exe

-the map turns now down under the f 16 cross onthe map..maybey the cross could be replaced with a fi6 painting and it would change heading instead of the map...and the map just shifting it..

- waypoints would be cool indeed
-also the section of other airplanes in the same te would be cool..dunno if this is possible

I'll see if I can do that.

" and it would change heading instead of the map...and the map just shifting it.."

Then it wouldn't be a moving map would it? It certainly be good to FPS but I think that we loose some realism with it? don't you think?

You mean having planes like mission planning?

It's not possible right now Image .
Falcon doesn't feed us with info about other flights.
That would be nice.

What kind of crash did you get with ADI?

The map would still move up/down..left/right
even more when zoomed in
yet it will not turnaround when changing heading..this would be done by the aircrafts symbol.

Me too! Image
So today I didn't do anything with programming, that engine startup is great!
Tomorrow I'll try not to fly and change the map to nonrotating and see if I can add a f-16 icon. BTW do you have a image that we could use?
